Everything you need to know about : Tire Dressing
DriveDetailed Magazine

Tire dressing and tire shine products are some of my favorite detailing products to use on my car. Even with a sparkling clean exterior, immaculate paintwork and gleaming alloy wheels, I would still be dissatisfied if my black tire walls were grubby and faded. Tire dressing may seem like a small thing, but it can make a significant difference in the overall appearance of a car after a detail. That’s why I always use some sort of tire product on my car after every maintenance wash, especially living in rainy Ireland where the amount of rain can be hard for any tire dressing to withstand. New MJJC Foam Cannon S V3.0 Review
DriveDetailed Magazine
by Darren
1y ago
Regular readers of this blog will know that I am a big fan of MJJC products, especially their foam cannons. Over the past few years, I have been using their cannons exclusively as I find them excellent value at the price point given the performance they offer, compared to some other brands. My cannon of choice at the moment is their Foam Cannon Pro V2.0 (which also won Best Snow Foam Lance 2021 in the Auto Express competition) MJJC have recently released their V3 of the ‘S‘ range of foam cannons (which is separate from the pro line) and reached out to me to see if I was interested in trying it ..read more

Garage Therapy One Car Shampoo V2 Review
DriveDetailed Magazine

Due to a very rainy winter season here in Ireland, I found myself washing my car more regularly than ever this year. Every time it seemed that I was on top of keeping my car clean, it would be filthy again in a matter of hours. As a result of this constant cleaning, I found myself using a huge amount of products quite quickly, and it was no surprise that it was the shampoo that was the hardest hit. Once I had finished the bottle of CarPro Reset I was using(one of my favourite car shampoos ever), I decided that it was time that I branch out again and try some new products. When it came to shopp ..read more

MJJC Snow Foam Review
DriveDetailed Magazine

Over the past number of weeks here in Cork in Ireland, we have gotten some pretty crappy weather. Day in, and day out we have been battered by heavy rain and high winds with no end in sight. As much as I like to battle the elements and try to keep my car as clean as possible, there was just no point. At any stage when I tried to wash the car, it would be dirty again in a matter of minutes. Towards the end of last week, we were blessed to have a day where it actually managed to stay dry, and of course, I jumped at the opportunity to get outside and get some cleaning done. MJJC were kind enough ..read more

Steering Wheel Cleaner – What’s Best to Use?
DriveDetailed
by Darren
2y ago
One aspect of interior detailing which is often overlooked by most is a vehicles steering wheel. Many may not even realize it, but the steering wheel is arguably one of the dirtiest parts of a car due to it being constantly touched by the driver. Over time, dirt, grease, sweat, oils from our hands and bacteria can build up on the steering wheel’s surface. A dirty steering wheel does not only affect the appearance of the interior of a car, it can also be a breeding ground for germs. This is not the most hygienic situation, especially in the cases where more than one person is regularly driving ..read more

If you are in any way involved or interested in the detailing scene and have a social media account, either on Instagram or Facebook, you have no doubt at some point been bombarded with advertisements and videos related to Shine Armor products. I remember a time where I could not go a day without something about Shine Armor popping up on my feed. This used to bug me just a little, that is until I watched one of the videos, and that’s when I got really annoyed. Never in my life have I seen such bullsh*t marketing, which included some absolutely outrageous claims about the product. If you have n ..read more

Clay Towel Vs Clay Bar : What’s the Difference?
DriveDetailed Magazine
by Darren

There are many different options available these days for detailers who want to remove embedded contaminants from the surface of a car. These products come in the form of Clay Bars, Clay Mitts, Clay Towels or even special pre-wash sprays which can break down and remove 99% of particles that may be present on the paintwork. It is great to be spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting a product for a specific job, but that presents a different problem, which one do you use? One question I get asked a lot by my subscribers is “What is a Clay Towel, and is it better than a traditional clay bar ..read more

How To Permanently Restore Black Plastic Trim (Easy Fix)
DriveDetailed Magazine
by Darren

One thing that can always ruin the look of a freshly detailed car is where the black plastic trim areas of the bodywork have faded. These areas which were once a deep black color when they left the factory, change to an old and tired looking grey(sometimes almost white) color over time. As with any exterior car features, it’s exposed to the elements and is therefore prone to fading at some point in the vehicles life. You could spend hours and hours detailing a car, but if there are faded plastic bits on the exterior, it will never look as good as it potentially could. Deep black looks smooth ..read more

Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions PRO Line ( With Graphene )
DriveDetailed Magazine
by Darren

One big announcement made by Turtlewax not long ago was that they were introducing a new PRO LINE range of their hybrid solutions products. The main thing that got my interest in this launch was that this new line utilized Graphene technology. This caught me by surprise as I feel that Turtlewax initially arrived late in the game with Si02 and “Ceramic” products, however, they seem to be out of the trap early in the Graphene infused product market. As Graphene is only starting to gain popularity in the detailing world as of late, Turtle wax seems to be one of only a few companies offering thes ..read more
