We are super excited!! It’s here! “Finnish Dance Music of the Finger Lakes” by Richard Koski, Michael Ludgate, Katrina Mackey. The idea came in 2017 shortly after we had started the band “Metku”, when our folklorist friend Maria Kennedy said to us, “You know there is grant money available to do what you guys are already starting to do”. Here is a brief summary written by Richard Koski for The Finger Lakes Finns about our “Grant Tunes” project. Many thanks to NYS and The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes. In 2018 and 2022 the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes with the New York Council of the Arts awarded Folk Arts Master and Apprentice grants to three of our local musicians.
