By Paul Chappell For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:21-24). MANY people in the world today believe that there are many ways to get to God. They are looking for philosophies or religious practices that appeal to th ..read more

By J D Greear IMAGINE there was a monitor attached to the side of your head. At any moment, it would display the exact thoughts—unfiltered—running through your mind. Does that seem cool to you? By Eric Geiger IN the spring of 2019, I shared with the shepherding elders of our church that we were going to be launching one new congregation a year for the next five years. Our directional elders were already on board, we had resources set aside for the first launch, and we were in the process of building the staff for the first new congregation. In January 2020, the lease we were about to sign for the first of the new congregations fell through. We started looking for a new location and then…Well, you know what happened in March 2020. At this point, it seemed like the plan to launch new c ..read more

EVERY year, tens of thousands of Christians visit the Garden Tomb – that is, the empty tom – in Jerusalem to reflect on the life, death, and miraculous resurrection of Jesus. But this year, with Israel engaged in brutal war against Hamas in Gaza for almost six months, more and more Israeli Jews than ever before are wrestling with existential questions. They’re asking about life and death and life after death – and even whether Jesus of Nazareth might, in fact, be the Jewish Messiah. HAS new evidence been found of Sodom’s destruction? In one of his latest videos, Expedition Bible’s Joel Kramer discovered the various pieces of sulfur in the area that would have been Sodom and the neighboring towns which were destroyed at the same time. Taking the sulfur from each of the areas and putting them on fire, Kramer demonstrates how the four areas that line up with the biblical description of the towns which were destroyed and never lived in again are the ones which the sulfur burned when lit on fire. However, the fifth article of sulfur, which comes from the presumed area of Zoar ..read more
