As you may well know, last year we had to make the difficult decision of saying goodbye to the English-language editions of Flow because, try as we might, we found it had become too challenging to produce them and then distribute them worldwide. As a result, we’ve had to make another difficult decision: this time, it’s to close the virtual doors of our international web shop. As we no longer create and sell the English editions of Flow and as international shipping is becoming even more problematic in current COVID-19 times, we have no choice but to shut up shop. We’re really sorry that we can ..read more

Jane Cabrera (51) is an author, illustrator and artist and lives in Devon, UK, with her daughter. She makes murals and illustrations. What are you up to? I’m just finishing a children’s picture book based on my ‘Love Our Earth’ poster. Did you always want to be an artist? Yes—or a detective. Both require observing the world. As a child, I used to hold mini exhibitions and charge my little brother to view them. I was very shy and timid, so I escaped into art. It was something I could control, and it felt safe. I was mostly bored at school, apart from art. In art, I could escape into my imaginati ..read more

‘J’ai deux amours’, sang Josephine Baker. These two loves were Paris, France, where she found freedom and equality, and the US, her homeland. A socially engaged woman, she put her fame to good use. “When I was a child and they burned me out of my home, I was frightened and I ran away. Eventually I ran far away.It was to a place called France. Many of you have been there, and many have not. But I must tell you, ladies and gentlemen, in that country I never feared. It was like a fairyland place. […] But when I ran away, yes, when I ran away to another country, I didn’t have to do that. I could g ..read more
