When you think of 90s African American cinema, movies instantly come to mind. Friday, Crooklyn, Juice, House Party, Boyz N the Hood, South Central, and many more. In my youth, I watched them all and laughed or joined in the character’s cry for justice. Were they an accurate depiction of the society I grew up in? Pretty much.
