It’s Important For The Left To Understand They Don’t Run Louisiana Anymore
The Hayride

We’re seeing a good bit of caterwauling by leftists over developments at the current legislative session. They’re complaining about virtually every bill winding through the process and screeching over what they think is “destruction” of the state’s lower classes. For example, there’s this… Hear the lament of the discredited and despised white leftist, who had someone in the governor's mansion for the last eight years and placed this state DEAD LAST In economic development. They've chased away a quarter-million of our friends and neighbors. Maybe it's their time to… https://t.co/GAUwZsbLas — S ..read more

MARSH MAN MASSON: Wading for Redfish, Specks + More! (Catch & Cook)
The Hayride
by Todd Masson
16h ago
Back in December, I caught the wade-fishing bug while standing in knee-deep water and subduing massive speckled trout in South Texas. A month later, my wife and I were hiking near our condo in Perdido, Fla., and came across a stunningly beautiful flat that was carpeted with shoal grass. The timing and the temps weren’t right for wade-fishing the flat at that time, but I filed the location away in my memory bank, and returned this weekend to see what I could catch. Check out the video for all the details! #fishing #speckledtrout #redfish We rent out our condo in Perdido, Fla.! Check it out her ..read more

Important That Christians, In Their Effort to Be Christians, Not Forget About Christians
The Hayride
by LeJeune
18h ago
Too many American Christians are forgetting or not recognizing a major blind spot in their philosophical approach to geopolitical affairs. The balance of compassion toward people of other faiths and toward those of our own is markedly, perhaps disturbingly, off. Last week I ran a piece on Tucker Carlson’s interview of Lutheran pastor Rev. Munther Isaac, who discussed with great pain the travails of Christians in Palestine. First off understand that as a Traditional Latin Catholic, I and my religion have our own issues with Lutherans and Martin Luther himself, so what I say here today is an aut ..read more

LUNSFORD: The ALA Is Using Explicit Cartoons on Our Kids
The Hayride
by Michael Lunsford
18h ago
(By Michael Lunsford/Citzens for a New Louisiana) — It must have been six or seven years ago when we discovered (quite by accident) that the library had morphed into something entirely different than what anyone understood. Back then, if anyone even breathed a question about the library, they were quickly denounced as proponents of illiteracy. The answer was a reflex – made almost too quickly. Very few of us thought very long about it, though. In the distant memories of our childhood, harmless little old ladies in cat-eye glasses guarded the mantle of literacy with stern looks and shushin ..read more

KOENIG: Enjoy the Clown Show Coming From the LADEMO Chair Election

Lately, I’ve spent a fair amount of time criticizing the LAGOP for its lack of transparency and limited voter outreach. While I believe that my critiques of the LAGOP are still valid, the LAGOP is not the most dysfunctional political party in the state of Louisiana. Not by a long shot. The prize for the most dysfunctional political party in Louisiana of course goes to the Louisiana Democrat party. Last Saturday, the Democrat State Central Committee (DSCC) attempted to regroup after taking an absolute clobbering in last fall’s statewide and legislative elections. Former LA Democrat party chair ..read more

AVALLONE: She’s Definitely Not Very Smart
The Hayride
by Louis Avallone

You may have heard by now that a sitting member of Congress, U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee, stunned students and teachers alike, at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, by telling them the moon is a “planet” that is “made up mostly of gases.” Of course, the moon has nearly no atmosphere. And it’s rock solid. And there’s only 8 planets (well, at least now since they kicked Pluto out of the line-up). So, she got it wrong. She misspoke. Who cares? We’re all human. Move along, right? But it’s not that. It’s more than that, and it’s not the first time Jackson-Lee has demonstrated s ..read more

The Critical Drinker Is Not Very Impressed With Civil War
The Hayride
by MacAoidh

We’ve been dreading the release of this movie since the first trailer came out, because our impression is that Hollywood isn’t capable, and maybe was never capable, of telling an effective story about what a second civil war in America might look like. And what we heard about Civil War, the Alex Garland vehicle starring Kirsten Dunst as a photojournalist traveling in a group embedded with rebel forces making their way to Washington, DC to overthrow the president amid a full-scale war, made us think even less that this was something we would enjoy. As it’s been described, the scenario Civil War ..read more

MILLS: The Problematic Attacks On Mike Johnson
The Hayride
by Guest Posts

Editor’s Note: A guest post from Gene Mills, president of the Louisiana Family Forum. I have seen numerous attacks on US House Speaker Mike Johnson in the last few weeks regarding his vote on funding the government and intelligence-driven security measures. Those attacks are short-sighted, poorly reasoned and severely lacking in context. I know Mike very well. He is an honorable man, a trustworthy leader and an engaged statesman. Admittedly, the circumstances America finds herself facing and the political remedies being offered are not ideal! Johnson is one of 435 votes in the U ..read more

SADOW: Unrepentant Left Still Opposing Children’s Needs
The Hayride
by Jeff Sadow
2d ago
Don’t expect apologies from Louisiana’s leftist institutions and activists having now been caught on supporting the erroneous “gender affirmation” model of addressing difficulties faced by a small number of youths, which state policy-makers continue to address. The tiny proportion of youths who express “gender dysphoria,” or a feeling their mental maps of themselves are incongruent with their physical sex, has multiplied in numbers over the past decade. Until then, from the last part of the 20th century medical professionals addressed this through watchful waiting as children, perhaps with psy ..read more
