  Most people who visit The Beer Emporium are intrigued as to the history of the building. Well, let’s shed some light into the cellar… The whole street is steeped in history. King Street is a 17th-century street named after Charles II. The street lies just south of the old town wall and was laid out in 1650 to develop the Town Marsh, Numbers 14–15 were built around 1860 as a warehouse. The Beer Emporium is a Grade II listed building, it was originally used by Bristol’s oldest wine merchant. J.R. Phillips and Co.
