In the past, fireworks displays were held at Wada River until the Taisho era, but after the Great Kanto Earthquake, the fireworks were canceled and the funds raised were used to help victims.
These fireworks have not been seen since then, but they have now evolved into carp streamers and are still flown in the hope that children will enjoy them as they did in the old days.
