it’s been a time since I last updated, hasn’t it?  been busy with summer work on the farm and outside in general. my attempt to put in a cottage garden last year failed miserably, as the landscape designer seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.  then all those volunteer sunflowers grew up from the bird feeders so I just let them be. early spring I SHOULD have contacted a different nursery but I didnt.  consequently, no garden this year.  I’ve done some research on them but dont feel I have the know-how to go for it on my own.  so instead, I got our trusty tool ..read more

hello from Arizona.  I am currently in Tucson visiting my daughter for a few days.  she and I will then fly to Portland Oregon to visit my son for a week so the shop is closed until April 30.  never been to Arizona before and wow is it pretty!   as if just being with my daughter isnt enough, there are palm trees, many varieties of cactus, and flowers galore.  and oh yeah SUNSHINE!  remember sunshine? well here it is time for another raggz fiber affair already.  we pretty much made it through the winter and time for the spring show! twenty-one fabulous vendors – come check us out at the Delmont VFD (Delmont, PA) from 10-5 this saturday, march 5.   I’ve been dyeing yarn like a crazy person.  I also have some new sheep, wooly trees, and if time allows, some greeting cards.  it’s always a fun affair and we are all looking very much forward to seeing everyone again.  we’ll have FIVE raffle prizes this time!   other than that, trying to get life back to normal ..read more

thanks to everyone who came out and braved the weather for the raggz fiber affair in delmont on October 16.  having inside and outside vendors isnt a normal thing for us, but it worked out.  I know for a fact that the vendors who opted to be inside were happy about their choice and those of us who opted to be outside perhaps had a regret or two.  I personally set up the inside of the building friday evening and put my tent up.  saturday morning at 6 a.m. when I arrived to set up my yarn and everything, the entire inside of my tent was wet from the rain.   I got soaked ..read more

home sweet home! had an absolutely amazing visit with my daughter and son in Portland and the day after I got back, I was in virginia with my other son and grandsons for two days. my heart and soul are rejuvenated. you may or may not have heard but Portland (and apparently a lot of the west and midwest) was experiencing a heat wave the whole time I was there. temps were as high as 115. but it didnt matter because we had a great time. went camping and swimming in the sandy river on mount hood. such beautiful scenery but the most beautiful scenery was the faces of my kids. now I’m back on the dy ..read more

Memorial Day weekend. it happens every year – my huge rhododendron is blooming for Memorial Day, I blink and its 4th of July, blink again and Labor Day….. I’m not complaining – this year cant be worse than last year, right? happy may! Pennsylvania spring – 80’s one day, snow the next. oh well. the flowers are coming up and everything is SO green! thanks to everyone involved in the April 24 raggz fiber affair, and that includes the weather men! we had a lovely day weather wise and even lovelier customer and vendor wise. felt like a street fair as someone put it. music, fiber, yarn, kids playing, and lots of smiles.
