Autumn makes me fall in love with nature year after year. As the leaves turn red and gold, I systematically feel myself drawn to the forest to enjoy this magnificent spectacle from up close. This year I decided to head to the East of the country on this occasion, to the Belgian Ardennes, where the country’s largest natural reserve can be found. The Hautes Fagnes is a unique area in Europe and truly a nature lover’s dream. Between the cities of Eupen, Montjoie, Malmedy and Spa, you can find the most picturesque hiking trails. And most hotels in the area boast a wellness center, turning your get ..read more

Antwerp is known as the Belgian capital of fashion and, as such, I’ve always felt very much drawn to this place. So much so that I’ve decided to move here almost one year ago! Antwerp has many exciting facets, from its rich history to a wide offer in terms of culture. And of course the city is a great shopping destination! I am delighted to tell you that my favorite boutiques are now part of the Antwerp online shopping guide and I gladly share these venues here with you too. Not many people think of Liège as a city trip destination, meaning they miss out on the variety of things the ‘Cité ardente’ has to offer! Admittedly the city’s skyline isn’t the most picturesque with its chaotic mix of random architectural styles, but this shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying Liège’s many attractive spots, as well as its charming historic center. And let’s not forget the Liégeois themselves! Known for their festive spirit, the people from Liège have a distinct warmth and kindness that you’ll surely feel in shops and restaurants. A trip to the seaside is always a pleasure. The sound of the waves, the healthy air, the wind going through your hair… In its simplicity, there’s something incredibly relaxing about spending time at the North Sea. Koksijde-Oostduinkerke is a peaceful seaside resort that’s mostly populated by seniors, something I actually appreciate since they’re the most respectful crowd. Also, this coastal place boasts a few unique highlights, such as the biggest collection of works by Paul Delvaux and traditional shrimp fishing. So even if you thought you knew the Belgian coast, I’m sure you’ll discover some ..read more

When you think of deserts, images from Disney's Aladdin come to mind: lonely palm trees, flying carpets and of course stretches of sand. A quintessentially tropical landscape. But did you know Belgium has its own desert scenery? Located in Limburg, Lommel is home to the Sahara, a unique nature reserve that's all about the raw material used to produce glass. Going into the city, you'll discover the extent to which glass can be used, from architecture to works of art. Welcome to the land of sand and glass! After moving to Antwerp six months ago, and coming here for many years, I really wanted to discover some of the city's hidden gems, its lesser known places most people don't get to see. And to do so, I got myself a City Card! It gives you free entry in 17 museums and 4 historical churches, as well as free use of public transport. The perfect bargain to discover Antwerp's cultural patrimony that goes far beyond the Rubens House and the Cathedral of Our Lady. Follow me! A weekend in Blankenberge

With my fascination for mermaids and beaches, I feel very much drawn to the seaside. And when you're talking about the Belgian coast, Blankenberge quickly comes to mind, as it is our second biggest seaside resort. The city has a beautiful heritage from its Belle Époque glory (which I'm very sensitive to) but that's not the only thing it has to offer. There really is something for everyone in Blankenberge, whether it is culture, shopping, gastronomy or beach bars! Since the city is rather small, there is no pressure and you can easily go from one point to another by foot. And with its ..read more
