#MSOffice Changing the Aptos font back to Calibri in Microsoft Outlook
Winthrop Development Consultants | Microsoft Dynamics GP Blog
by WinthropDC

Microsoft have done many great things over the years but have also made some bad (maybe awful) decisions in my opinion. This includes discontinuing Zune and Windows Phone and Xbox Kinect as well as the addition of Clippy to Office or the removal of the Start Menu in Windows 8. However, the latest change that I am less than impressed by is the changing of the default Office font (technically Typeface) from Calibri to Aptos. This article explains how to restore Calibri as the default in Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft have spent a lot of time working on designing and selecting a new typeface and ha ..read more

A couple of weeks ago, we had an unusual support case: upgrading two of our products, Visual Studio Integration Toolkit and GP Power Tools, was failing with a SQL Server error I had never seen before. The errors only occurred on the customer’s live system, but the install worked fine on their development system. Eventually the cause for the issue was identified. Today, my good friend Beat Bucher, had the same error and I was able to tell him the cause straight away. Read on for a full explanation. The products were trying to update their tables from the old structures to the new stru ..read more
