Alternate subhead: I'll take "Things Shakespeare didn't write" for $2,000, Alex. So yeah, I'm doing what I do best: Jumping on the bandwagon long after it's left the livery stables. This is actually my first mock draft ever -- not just on this site, but genuinely ever. I've just never been a fan of them to be honest, and I usually disengage during the NFL's Silly Season that is the run-up to the draft (it helps that this is also when the EPL is in the thick of it). But it's a new regime so I figured, what the hell. My initial thought had been to mock the mock drafts with a humor post wherein I ..read more

Worst kept secret? Eagles / Packers / Redskins all discussing trade up scenarios with Seahawks — Chad Forbes (@NFLDraftBites) April 4, 2024 Building on this recent post from Chad Forbes, I decided to try a mock draft that focused on a single (two part due to simulator limitations) pre-draft trade with the Commanders. In this trade, the Seahawks send R1:16, R4:102, and R6:179 with ED Darrell Taylor and CB Michael Jackson to the Commanders for R2:36, R2:40, R3:78, and R5:152. Breaking down this trade, it is basically a straight up trade down from the first round for the two second round picks ..read more

The nadir pseudo Seahawks mock draft

Photo by David Jensen/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images (Editor's note: Another Seahawks mock draft from the fanposts!) We are past the halfway point of mock draft season. We have made it through the bottom and are climbing back into sanity. I am starting to believe that this draft is going to have way more "reaches" and "fallers." All of the mocks are all over the place. Also, I don't think pundits are taking into account what the new kick off rule really means. Disclaimer: READ THIS PLEASE I don't know where the Seattle Seahawks will end up picking, but there is a good chance we will pick som ..read more

Schneider Double Down Mock Draft; or The Horror of no Day 1 Pick!

Welcome back for the third official installment of my Mock Draft Series, the fourth will be more prognostication. This draft is taking a look at what we might see if the value is there to pick up more picks while moving off of Day 1 entirely. For this draft, I'm assuming that Schneider has handed out scant few R1 grades this year and that all of those players will be long gone by the time that Pick 16 rolls around. Unlike my other Mocks, I'll be giving some reasoning behind each of the picks prior to the Seahawks picks. If you want to read my other Mocks you can here: https://www.fieldgulls.c ..read more

For Mock's Sake: Another Seahawks mock draft

Photo by Keith Gillett/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images (Editor's note: Some great mock drafts in the fanposts! It's more exciting than combing through 8-9 reputable draft analysts all writing the same thing about the Seahawks. Keep them going!) Hey Field Gulls, tis the Season for Mocking. Lots of good mocks out there and nobody truly knows what is going to happen. I really focused on trading back to get additional value as much as possible and had some tremendous trade opportunities present themselves. I don't use PFF because I am cheap. So Pro Football Network lets you do a fun, fast, and FR ..read more

Pseudo Mock Draft of a Third Kind

I have heard that this draft isn't very deep a bunch, but I just don't see it. There is value the whole way through the draft if you aren't too position picky. With that in mind, I decided to look at what a lot of other FGers have said and get OL later in the draft. I'm not sure I am sold, but thats what these mocks are for. Also, the kickoff rules changed and I am guessing they will address that in the draft. Disclaimer: READ THIS PLEASE I don't know where we will end up picking, but there is a good chance we will pick some time in each round, so that is what we will look at, regardless of ..read more

Mock Draft Frenzy 2.0

In this mock draft, I tried less overall movement and tried to focus more on getting into the right positions to draft players who can be impact contributors early, as well as building draft capital in 2025. I made five pre-draft trades, and one trade down out of the end of the 4th round. I picked up future picks in the 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds in 2025. Three players were traded in the six trades made. Players Traded - In a trade down in the 1st Round, the Seahawks send R1:16, R4:102, and CB Michael Jackson Sr to the Philadelphia Eagles for R1:22 and R2: 50. The Seahawks trade DE Dre'Mont Jo ..read more

Simply the Best! BPA versus Need drafting, a 2024 Hawks choose your own adventure

A common year round debate amongst the greater Seahawks fandom is the idea of drafting to fill needs, or drafting for Best Player Available (BPA) - or as I like to call it Value Adjusted BPA. We've recently learned that the Seahawks employe a hybrid (a compromise! have they never been online??) wherein early picks have need factored into BPA, then become strictly BPA in later rounds. Summarized: NEED BASED DRAFTING The technique: At the given pick, ask yourself: "What is my teams biggest need?" Answer that Question, then ask yourself "who is our highest rated player who fills that position of ..read more

Seahawks Mock Draft: 12 Pick Trade Frenzy

I do a lot of mock drafts using the PFF mock draft simulator. It's fun and it helps me get to know the prospects out there, where they might be drafted, how trades can factor into the draft, and who might be available to the Seahawks in the upcoming draft. When setting up my drafts, I use the Public Board, I add one click to "Care for Positional Value", and I lower "Draft for Needs" by one click. For trades, I generally use 80% chance to be accepted as the minimum for trade proposals, but this can vary some later in the draft when trade options are limited. Some might argue about how realisti ..read more

Photo by Todd Kirkland/Getty Images (Editor's note: Another mock draft in the fanposts? Another promotion to the front page!) This is the second in my Mock Draft series where I have promised myself not to hijack one of STUFR's posts or needlessly clog up another comment section. Maybe I can make FanPosts the thing they should be. I could name drop about a dozen regular commenters that I would very much like to hear their expanded thoughts on our shared love...
