Users and traffic dropped but Search Console drop does not seem too big

Hello, so I was looking at the stats for my website on GA4. I saw march there was a bit of a drop, but I assumed it was because we moved some of the Google Ads revenue. Now that I checked April it has dropped by more than 50-60%. I saw there was an "update" in March with the cookies and also about AI content showing on google. So my Organic Search Channel is still the same percentage so I don't think it is a problem with Google not showing my page. But the general traffic has drastically dropped and it doesn't even make sense with the Google Ads clics measurement. I read some about it now, an ..read more

Import historical missed data

Hi there, I am struggling with the mistakenly lost data import to GA4. Due to a technical issue we didn't send all registration events from a backend to GA and now have all these missed events in the .cvs file. The problem is that when I'm uploading the data as an offline event I get the error "The event timestamp you have provided is too old...". I know, that I cannot upload events that are older than 72 hours (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10325025?hl=en) but how should I import the data if it's 2 months old? I already have the userID property and need to import missed registr ..read more

I recently set up a website for myself for the first time in forever I've installed Analytics and excluded my IP address using the 'internal traffic rule' I've just checked my account now and my visits are still showing (like, from yesterday). Does it only exclude them from this point moving forward or something? submitted by /u/Weekly_Frosting_5868 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Verification through DNS after moving from Google domains to Squarespare

My domain got moved from Google to Squarespace as part of their takeover. I got an email saying I need to re-verify by updating the DNS records. I added the TXT record from inside Search Console, starting with google-site-verificatoin=12345 etc to Squarespace, and after a few days, when I try to 'verify' I still get an error. The error says 'we can't find your verification token in your domain's TXT records. We found these instead: v=spf1 a mx include:websitewelcome.com ~all v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all I removed the 2 above TXT records and left just the token from Search Console as a ..read more

GA4 blank space in the date and properties selection

This week, my GA4 dashboard is behaving strangely. When selecting the date range, everything is blank, and I must manually enter the date (typing it). When I scroll upward, the dates appear for the 2015-2016 range, but everything disappears when I start scrolling downward again. The same happens in the property selection drop-down menu, where I get to pick only 5-6 properties. The rest of the scroll area from halfway down is whitespace. I tried Brave and Safari, and I noticed the same behavior. submitted by /u/jimmakos [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi all. I have just linked GA4 to BigQuery. There were two export options - Daily Export and Streaming. I have just selected streaming and I get all the data in - eventsintraday*. My question is - will there be any problem if I don’t select daily export. Should I select both or just one? And why? submitted by /u/KingAbK [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How reliable/accurate are GTM and GA4?

I've been looking at event data and I'm finding that the numbers just don't add up. By a fairly wide margin. I have a list of third party websites on my site. When a user clicks one of them, they are presented with a modal HTML popup to acknowledge that they're going to visit a third-party website. If they click OK, a new tab opens with the website in it. If they click Cancel, the modal popup closes. Once the popup is showing, they can't take any other actions on the site (aside from closing the window, refreshing, the Back button, etc). Previously, I was just tracking which link was clicked ..read more
