Prefer fresh or house made, but would settle for good packaged varieties too. submitted by /u/SmokinSkinWagon [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The isn't any frost in the 10 day forecast and I'm wondering if it's safe to start direct sowing some seeds? I'm going to plant some Zinneas, sunflowers and Snapdragon in pots for a little cutting garden. But I can make myself wait if they wouldn't thrive in this weather! submitted by /u/LudmilaBWCA [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Birthday date night restaurant. Money not an issue, but only for this one occasion. Suggest your absolute best. Death-row-last-meal tier.

Title. Apologies, I know there are a lot of these types of posts, but most of them refer to affordable options. I want the opposite. My boyfriend and I have been gifted a fine dinner anywhere we'd like to celebrate exams ending. It's also his birthday. We love New American, but we're a little tired of it given all the local mid-tier fare that incorporates it. I love sushi, but he likes everything Japanese *but* sushi. We're also both fish quality snobs given that we're both from coastal cities. We have pretty refined palates, though, and are mostly up for an adventure/unforgettable experience ..read more

Recs for 20-30 ppl reservation/private room

Hello! I graduate in a couple of weeks and I’m behind on planning for post-ceremony… I am looking for a space in Minneapolis (downtown/north loop/NE) for 20-30 people on a Saturday afternoon. Thinking catering style would be easier. Private room not necessary, but definitely do not want somewhere super cramped. Nothing super expensive. Open to a brewery, but I would like them to serve more than just beer. Thank you in advance! ? submitted by /u/Duplicity-22 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Where can I stock up on Onigiri in the cities?

I moved up here from Atlanta, there was a Japanese grocery store near my college campus called wagaya. They’d make 3 types of fresh onigiri every morning and package them in plastic. Loved running over there and grabbing a handful to snack on during classes. Since moving here and getting a kitchen I’ve tried to make my own but they kind of sucked. Anyone know where I can go grab a few packs submitted by /u/gtshortstack [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Landscape consult - recommendations?

We've done a ton of work on our yard since moving into our (hopefully forever) home in Mendota Heights 4 years ago. I'm looking simply to hire someone as a brief couple hour consult to assist with the following: Identify certain plants growing in our garden beds and in our backyard wood area that I can't figure out, so I know which ones to keep/protect vs try to remove. Get them to recommend a planting plan for a couple remaining areas of the yard. I'm happy and interested in doing the planting myself (I enjoy it), but want professional landscaper input. For both points, priority goes t ..read more

I was there recently with some knives and scissors and he's such a nice old guy. Sadly, he's ready to retire and is trying to sell the business. He says he's willing to do some months of training for someone new to take over. I'm posting here because it seems like a great opportunity for the right person. submitted by /u/CalmlyCarryOn [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
