The Pack picks up another guard
The Wolfpack has picked up another solid commit in Mike James. James is from Orlando FL, he was a four star, top 100 player that Coach Keatts recruited coming out of HS before he landed at Louisville. Coach Keatts started recruiting him again immediately after this most recent season ended, along with teammate Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, but James decided to stick around Louisville a while and see what the new coaching staff looked like.
James has started every game of his two-year college career (6 ..read more

Four of next eight games for the Pack are against Top 10 teams
NC State has been bouncing in and out of the Top 25 all year, and with their latest series win against a Top 25 team - this time against UNC - the Wolfpack reenters the rankings at #21 in the latest D1 Baseball poll. The USA Today Coaches Poll will be released later today.
The series win over the Tar Heels also put State back in the Top 30 of the RPI rankings, which, given the remaining schedule, gives the Pack a decent shot at an NCAA Regional hosting opportunity. Of course, f ..read more

Keeping an eye on the Wolfpack’s transfer activities
The rush of transfer announcements is slowing, the D1 list on Verbal Commits (https://www.verbalcommits.com/transfers) sits at 1,760. But it has already exceeded last season’s all-time high of 1,717.
We have seven players (Pass, O’Connell, Taylor, Parker Jr, Rice, Middlebrooks, and Diarra) that are candidates to transfer. O’Connell, having graduated from Stanford last summer, can make the decision to transfer anytime, but unless th ..read more

Looking lackluster for much of the night, the Pack score three in the bottom of the 8th to top the Heels, 5-4
NC State made numerous miscues Friday night against UNC, but put together a late rally to secure a 5-4 win over the Tar Heels and in the process secure the series victory.
UNC struck first for the second straight night, with Vance Honeycutt hitting a high 1st inning pop-up that carried just enough to make it over the fence for a solo home run. It seemed to be that type of night for State for much of the evening, as evidenced by Brandon Butterworth hit ..read more

In a game with 8 total homers (and 2 more UNC homers in the booth), the Pack strikes last
As NC State went to bat in the bottom of the 9th inning against UNC on Thursday night, all but one Wolfpack hitter that had stepped to the plate that evening had registered a hit. Brandon Butterworth was the lone hitter with a 0 in the Hit column. He changed that, and with it sent the Pack home winners on the evening over the rival Tar Heels, securing the victory in the series opener between the two.

We filled one of our guard positions
The Wolfpack picked up a very good commit in Dontrez Styles. Styles was four stars coming out of HS and spent his first two seasons at UNC, before transferring last season to Georgetown. Coach Keatts was heavily recruiting him both from HS and last season before he chose Georgetown.
Styles came into his own last season as a Hoya, starting all 32 games, playing 33.5 mins per game, and averaging 12.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg and shooting 36.8% from the arc. He’s 6’6” so adds a lot of size to our guard positions.

Common thread for hoops transfers
As no23sports pointed out, we have transfer conversations in multiple threads and it makes sense to have a central spot.
Quick list of recent news:
Ryan Conwell (6’4” 195 Guard) - visit went well, he flew out Sunday morning, he and assistant coach Larry Dixon were at USF at the same time and have a good relationship, he has other visits currently scheduled
Freddie Dilione V (6’5” 180 Guard) visits tomorrow (Tuesday) - from Fayetteville, one season at Tenn, averaged 5.2 mins per game
Dontrez Styles (6’6” 212 G ..read more
