Ziggy won't change his wake word.

I have a third generation echo dot named Ziggy whose wake word is to no surprise Ziggy. My wife and I keep accidentally calling him Alexa which is the name and wake word for our Alexa in the bedroom. So I decided to make it all simple and change Ziggy's wake word to Alexa as well. The problem is Ziggy won't change. When I try using the app it says to check my network connection but that's fine. I tried in person by voice. It says it will but then doesn't do it. I've unplugged it and let it rest for a few minutes. Nope. Not sure what to try next. The bedroom Alexa has no issues. Alexa pausing music

About two weeks ago, my Alexa has been irritating. It plays a few songs, and then stops at the beginning of the next song. I have no idea why it started, and no idea how to fix it. I have tried unplugging, resetting wifi, I’ve tried asking alexa why she does this and she doesn’t give me a straight answer. I use Spotify. Does anyone have any fixes? submitted by /u/EconomyNo24 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My LG has Alexa build-in. I can use that using the microphone on the remote control. I also have an Echo Dot in the same room. Is it possible to control my TV using echo dot? For example asking it to turn the TV on and start netflix etc? submitted by /u/NoodleCheeseThief [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My Alexa lies..

I have 3 Alexas spread over the house. I used to have more until I just got disgusted and threw 3 of them away. I'm seriously thinking of doing the same with the remaining 3. This morning I got up and looked at the sky that appears to be a dark blue-gray color. The sky looks as if it could rain or almost snow, although it "should be" a bit too warm to snow today. Me: "Alexa, will it rain today?" Alexa: "No. It will not rain today." Me: "Alexa what is the weather today?" (I am now wondering if it's as cold as it appears.) Alexa: "It is 36 degrees with a high of 27 degrees. Expect rain at 10:00 ..read more

Having 2 Xbox’s in the home?

I currently have a “living room Xbox (Series X)” and a “bedroom Xbox (One S)” both named as such in my app, hooked to their own TVs and linked to the respective Echo device in that room. That being said, sometimes I’ll say “Alexa, tell Xbox to x” on my living room Xbox, and it’ll fire up the bedroom Xbox. I’ve tried using the exact name (Living room Xbox and such) and then it just doesn’t do anything. Have I got something wrong? submitted by /u/ImpressiveGoose4015 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Grey’s anatomy

When I say “Alexa play grey’s anatomy on Netflix” it tries to play ”gray’s anatomy” which leads to it not playing and instead bringing me to the “you might also like screen” where the first option is “Grey’s anatomy”. Would be awesome is Alex’s AI could get this right, or Netflix was smart enough to accept an alternate spelling. I tried creating a routine that corrects the name to “grey’s” but it does the same thing. submitted by /u/girldadx4 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Alexa says she can’t connect to Internet while streaming audio?

For the past few weeks while I stream TuneIn or other streaming audio when I say “Alexa, stop” to stop the stream, she will respond that she is having trouble connecting to the internet and restart router message. My WiFi and home network are fine. It is only when I stream audio and then “Stop” if I use “Pause” then it will pause audio and not give me the Internet connection error. Only noticed this on my Echo Dot 4 and not my Echo Pop (but I use it a lot less). I am at a loss what I can do to troubleshoot. It is such a minor yet annoying thing. Any one else notice this or had a similar probl ..read more
