Can the mojo continue against the Dodgers?
The Mets are rolling along right now. The winner of four straight series, the Mets haven’t lost two in a row since they won their first game of the season. The bullpen has looked fantastic, the starters have (for the most part) avoided meltdown games, and the team, up and down the lineup, is starting to hit.
The three-game sweep against the Pirates showed a couple of really promising signs for the club. In all three games, the Mets were either trailing or didn’t get off to a strong offensive start before scoring runs ..read more

2023, Home Run Applesauce
This week, Brian and Chris bask in the good vibes.
Welcome to Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World Series, the new/old favorite from Chris McShane and Brian Salvatore.
The Mets have had two very good weeks of baseball, capped off a by sweep of the Pirates at home. Before they head out to the West Coast, Chris and Brian discuss the surprising excellence of the bullpen, some of the offensive highlights, and admit they were wrong (so far) about one player in particular.

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (9-8)
CHARLOTTE 5, SYRACUSE 4 (BOX)
Joey Lucchesi was solid to start, throwing six innings and allowing two earned runs (three total), though he did have his warts on the evening. He did not miss a ton of bats, only striking out four. He walked three and allowed four hits — it was not the most impressive quality start you’ll see, but it was a solid effort. The Syracuse bullpen, however, could not hold the slim 4-3 lead they were given, however. An ..read more

Meet the Mets
The Mets offense broke out for nine runs to defeat the Pirates 9-1 and finish off a series sweep of Pittsburgh. Tyrone Taylor led the charge with three hits while both Starling Marte and Harrison Bader went deep. The Mets pitching was again solid which started with Luis Severino. He gave up one run in six innings and the bullpen handled the rest. The win finished off a 5-1 homestand as the team now heads to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers.

After a dreadful start to the season, the Mets and their offense have come alive.
On a cloudy spring day at Citi Field, the Mets defeated the Pirates for their first sweep of the season.
Luis Severino was on the mound and continued his strong start to the season, having his best performance yet as a Met. Going six innings for the first time in his short Mets’ career, Severino allowed just one unearned run, while striking out four batters. The one run Severino surrendered came in the third inning, where Henry Davis reached base on catchers interference. After allowi ..read more

The Mets balk-ed at the thought of not winning another series.
Coming into tonight’s game, the Mets were on a hot streak. They’d won back-to-back games, three straight series, and had been 8-3 since their disastrous five game losing streak to start the season. They could clinch a series win with this game, but their hopes rode on the back of José Quintana, who has looked somewhat shaky to start the year. They were also facing a good young pitcher in Jared Jones. Still, they showed an ability to fight to the last out this season, and the offense has shown some ..read more
