Can I portion and freeze pressure cooked ribs to be grilled/broiled later?

I usually pressure cook my ribs until tender, then grill/broil them until the sauce is sticky. Because the whole process takes less than an hour (not considering the time it sits in the marinade), I’ve always made these right before eating. I was wondering if it’d be possible to do the first step (pressure cook) and then store it, either in the fridge or freezer, depending on when I plan on cooking the rest. Would it make it tough to go from hot to cold and then hot again? Would it be better if i finish the whole process and then store the ribs like a frozen dinner? submitted by /u/brighteye ..read more

I've cooked ribs with 3 different recipes . Just meh. Basically getting the meat done in the IP, and then putting flavor on top of it and bake it. maybe brine them first? Ideas? submitted by /u/Tight_Data4206 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Cook time any different from 6qt to 8qt?

I'm purchasing my first instant pot and I was thinking about the 8qt duo. However, I saw someone mention that the cook time may change based on what size IP you have. Is there any truth to that? I feel like the size of the pan wouldn't make a difference to the pressure cook time. I'm just curious. I can certainly adjust if I need to, but I know nothing about pressure cookers. submitted by /u/OtterElite [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Help starting a recipe?

Got an instant pot rio wide with the intention of meal prepping a week's worth of chicken breast with some vegetables like broccoli, potatoes, mushrooms etc and I just need some help before I start: so in my head I cut and season the chicken breasts, pour chicken broth into the pot, put the variety of veggies in the broth, and then put the chicken breasts on the riser thing above the veggies. Would this work? How long does it take? Lots of buttons and youtube is surprisingly unhelpful for instant pot stuff lol submitted by /u/DigDigBicko [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ve started seeing videos online for “rice cooker recipes” and I was wondering how I could use an instant pot to make these recipes… Has anyone tried this before? My assumption is that I would I just use the steam option instead of pressure cooking it. submitted by /u/etherghoul [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi! I’m currently roasting marrow bones for stock after blanching them. I’ve been making chicken bone broth couple of times a week for years, but this is my first time making beef stock. I’m planning on cooking them high pressure for two hours with nr, but I usually run it for four with chicken. Do you guys have any tips tricks or techniques you could share? submitted by /u/Original-Hospital [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
