I have primarily been jamming for the last 2 years and the most consistent feedback I get is that I need to look up. I somehow jam with my face to the floor constantly. We had our first game of the season last weekend and in all the photos I'm in, I am looking down. The only time I look up is when I get out of the pack. hey everyone! i joined derby back in january and i absolutely love it. but its been getting really, really frustrating. the rest of the bootcampers can do transitions no problem, and im the only one that still cant (everyone else got in within the 6 weeks of bootcamp that ended mid feb). ive been doing the pointing tricks, turning my head first, opening my hips, etc. i was born with flat feet and it had me walking pigeon-toed for my entire life, and in turn, its rotated my hips in a way that its incredibly difficult for me to get that open book technique (and t-slides). is anyone else struggl ..read more
