…and what is the shape of it? Do you do a time limited “learn how” or do new skaters fold into the league, etc …and what are the next steps? Is there a specific ladder of training post-grad/post-min skills?
Are you aware of satisfactions and dissatisfactions with your current (or even past models)?
Any other morsels are welcome!

Curious what kind of workouts you did/would recommend after coming back from an injury? I fractured my hand in February and want to start skating again next week and going back to contact in three weeks. Do you have any muscle group(s) you would focus on, do full body workouts or can recommend anything derby specific? Currently I'm doing three work outs a week, but so far they've been pretty random and I wonder if you have tips for something specific. :)

Please don't vilify me if it's an easy find, I promise that I tried to search first.
Is there a resource somewhere that explains in detail how to read the stats in the statsbook? (after it's been filled out & sent out to the skaters after the games)

What fabric is going to be Velcro safe? I got sample jerseys made but the 82% polyester 18% spandex instantly caught the Velcro during scrimmage tonight. It's so unfortunate because it's a great jersey!

What are people's thoughts on derby with an ostomy bag?. I'm curious about stoma guards and derby and if it is feasible to play or do contact with it. Like i know that the stoma is sturdier than alot of people assume and that there are guards that protect the stoma itself. Lets assume the player gets the go ahead to participate from their physician. Do yall know if wftda is OK with skaters using stoma guards and playing with it? What are people's thoughts around it?

I have primarily been jamming for the last 2 years and the most consistent feedback I get is that I need to look up. I somehow jam with my face to the floor constantly. We had our first game of the season last weekend and in all the photos I'm in, I am looking down. The only time I look up is when I get out of the pack. I've always struggled with eye contact and social anxiety, so I look down a lot due to that.
I try telling myself I'll look up but as soon as the whistle blows I completely forget and go back to looking down. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get past it?

hey everyone! i joined derby back in january and i absolutely love it. but its been getting really, really frustrating.
the rest of the bootcampers can do transitions no problem, and im the only one that still cant (everyone else got in within the 6 weeks of bootcamp that ended mid feb). ive been doing the pointing tricks, turning my head first, opening my hips, etc.
i was born with flat feet and it had me walking pigeon-toed for my entire life, and in turn, its rotated my hips in a way that its incredibly difficult for me to get that open book technique (and t-slides). is anyone else struggl ..read more

So due to my work schedule I don't get to go to practices very often, thus I don't meet basic skills or practice attendance requirements. BUT I quickly picked up on NSO stuff and have become a go-to for score keeping. ?
Quick mental math has been my biggest struggle so I'm considering getting a tally counter.
Would this be a clever hack or am I just being lame? Lol!

Howdy,
I recently got a new pair of skates. Super great, pretty comfy. Howmstever, I've been having this problem with top edge of the boot of my skate digging into my heel. Any solutions for this? Like are there padded socks one might recommend? Wearing the skates a little differently? Suck it up, it'll callous-over eventually?

As a Brit, I'm desperate to know if anyone can tell me if they're planning on going.
Also, what account took your sign up fee? Have you had any further communication from the organisers- emails/phone calls etc? Have you received any waivers etc?
I'm genuinely fascinated.
