What stops you from living your truthful creative potential?

For years I felt called to help people, and yet, I stayed in my Brand Management job until I eventually burnt out, developing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  My body had enough, and it redirected me – and that was my first lesson in leaning into following my heart instead of suppressing my truth.  Fast forward 8 years, and I am now a Life Mentor who supports people in finding freedom from suffering; something born from years of personal trauma, and layers of thinking about who I should be, which only began to fall away in the space of doing nothing.   You see, my love, we are complex thinkers, you ..read more

Why it is OK to Experience Suffering, and How to Find Freedom

“Suffering is not holding you; you are holding suffering” ~ Buddha   Someone challenged me the other day in a way that I didn’t expect. They asked me if I ‘suffered.’ At first I had a lot of resistance to suffering. You see, I have long said that it is okay for us to suffer, but when I was questioned on whether I suffered myself, I suddenly found myself realising that I had often perceived my own experience to be that of limited struggle, since I came across an understanding that profoundly changed my life. So, feeling all shaken up, I sat with it, resting in my presence, and I asked mysel ..read more

“All we need to be is who we are right now, holding ourselves in self-love.” ~ Nicole Barton   I’ve been through some really tough times recently, and the more tough life has felt, the easier I have seen it is to get dragged into a spiral of thinking that ‘life looks horrible forever.’  I’ve been deeply into my suffering at times, engrossed in it, feeling really miserable; and it’s unlike my true self because I know and I understand that life works like this, and that we can have a lighter experience, even of our suffering.  I know my experience of life comes entirely from my thinking (which ..read more

How Reconnecting to Yourself in Nature Can Help You Surrender to This Moment

If there’s a place to go to reconnect to who you really are, it’s the Pods at Wootton Park in Warwickshire.  As I sit here in one of their gorgeous treetop pod houses, surrounded by the songs of nature, I really drop back into the peace and serenity that is my natural state. I awoke this morning to the sun gleaming through the window and the sounds of a cockerel and, as I’m typing this, there’s a beautiful bird singing me a song just a few metres away in the trees surrounding my little pod.  Beyond that, there are rolling hills, and I’m surrounded by every shade of green you can possibly im ..read more

How Everyday Miracles Unfold When We Let Go and See Our True Freedom

“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness.” ~ Thich Nhat Hahn   For so long I’ve tried to be in control. I’ve tried to make sure that my life goes according to plan; that all my ducks are in a row. Until six months ago, I had a home in the UK, I was married, I had a totally different business, and it looked like my life was sorted. I had a nice life – but, at times, this mapped-out life felt so trapping. It seemed like my soul longed for more; for a life that was less known – one so different to my own. I wanted freedom. That’s not to say that I needed all ..read more

Top Tips on How to Cope When the World Seems Tough
Wellbeing Writer

We all go through it, from time to time, when we experience bad luck after bad luck, mixed with what always seems like just more awful stuff.  It often happens when you’re in the basement and you can only see the dark.  But is it really that bad, underneath? Recently, I had a day like that – and without dipping into the content, I found myself resting in bed, with my hip in pain, and then I had to deal with difficult conversations, family feuds and a lot of judgement and disapproval – all on the same day.  So, how do you cope when times seem to become tough? Well, you simply do.  To put it i ..read more

I’m so excited to share our latest feature in Sivana East!  Recently I’ve been in Bali, and there have been so many insights about finding freedom.  So, when I was invited to share something beautiful with Sivana, I found some inspiration in that, and wrote a little bit about how I found it was actually easier to tap into freedom than we think it is! To understand why, have a read of my guest blog for them, HERE:       I have seen so much more deeply, since I have been travelling the globe, about how our freedom is innate!  As well as this blog post, I am so excited as life unfolds in miracul ..read more

Radical Aloneness – Why You Can Embrace Being Alone This Valentine’s Day

Recently, I’ve had a lot of thinking about ‘aloneness’.  I always felt alone, growing up as an only child, and so this is a story I’ve carried into my adulthood, resisting it as much as I could.  As I wake on Valentine’s Day, this year, I am in Cambodia, far away from the life I’ve led for the last 10 years as I’ve left my home (all by myself) to travel independently and experience the world.  So, what do I feel today, as I sit around the pool, writing, in the sunshine?  What can I learn?  What is there to be seen? Quite a lot, as it happens, and if you read on for the next few minutes, I wi ..read more

Beau-tea-ful Rose Tea Stole My Heart

I was recently gifted a beautiful set of products by a company called Yandra Tea.  I often get offered lots of wellbeing-orientated gifts, and I don’t always accept them unless they resonate as it isn’t fair to just take products for review and not then review them properly, but there was something about this brand that called to me (a bit like the Birch & Wilde supplement brand I recently also reviewed, which was equally exceptionally high quality).  I’m glad it did because I honestly fell in love with Yandra’s products – and so I wanted to share them in case they resonated with you also ..read more
