This week Menopause Support was in Norwich at the Castle Quarter Shopping Centre for a free menopause drop in event. We had lots of people come and chat. It was upsetting to hear how so many were struggling to get the help and support that they deserve both in healthcare and in the workplace. Also distressing to hear from several postmenopausal women still experiencing symptoms who felt that they just had to get on with it. Today has been fabulous and frustrating in equal measure…. The fabulous. I spent the day at The Forum in Norwich, sharing menopause information and answering questions with the lovely people there. Gave out lots of booklets and posters. One lovely man came especially to get information about how he can better support his partner. The frustrating. Spoke with a woman in her twenties clearly in premature menopause but getting no help from her GP, she has been told several times that she is too young. Menopause Support has launched a £90,000 fundraising appeal to allow us to make our ‘Understanding Menopause’ booklet available to people across the UK – We need your help.
