Wow, what an amazing Open Day we had this year ! The sun shone down which brought so many locals and tourists over to see traditional cider being made. It was the busiest Open Day we have ever had ! There was also Steam Engines, a 40 ft Street Pipe Organ and Classic Cars to have a look at. Happyard brought over some cute Alpacas for people to have a cuddle and have a chance at winning a Alpaca Walk with them. The greenhouse was filled with craft stalls selling some beautiful locally made items and foods. Thank you so much to all the volunteers, staff, stallholders and everyone who came along ..read more

There was free entry to the Cider Museum, as well as steam engines, an ice princess, a superhero, facepainter, majorettes and lots of local stalls. There was also an amazing raffle with prizes from splashdown, farmer palmers, fun factory, creams in dorch, creation station, b ..read more

Dave and Craig worked hard and used two methods - straw and cloths to filter the juice on different presses. Another highlight was the steam engines - we had over 12 different working engines - doing everything from pumping water, crushing corn and even giving rides ! There was demonstrations of weaving, spinning, spoon whittling, and children could join in with cla ..read more

Last week Rob and Jim brought over their first ripe apples of the year to turn into apple juice at the Cider Museum. The beginning of August !?!? They are the gorgeous variety 'Beauty of Bath' which ripen very early - from July into September. They bruise easily and do not keep well so are suited to juice and home made cider production. Using our Electric Crusher and Vigo Press they took an hour and a half to turn the five large containers into over 10 gallons ( 80 pints ) of dark pink juice, which was deliciously sweet, with a sharp edge to it. A fun and successful start to the Cider Making ..read more
