First Electric Trucks Delivered As Part Of Electric Freightway

The first fully electric Heavy Goods Vehicles (eHGVs) have been delivered under the Electric Freightway programme to A.F. Blakemore & Son, one of the UK’s largest privately owned family businesses operating across the retail and foodservice sectors. Electric Freightway is part of the Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator Programme. Tyneside train operator, Lumo, has announced that 95% of their workforce first began as apprentices. Lumo’s milestone follows a five-year partnership between themselves and railway training provider, Train’d Up. To date Lumo said that a total 78 Customer Drivers and Customer Experience Ambassadors have successfully enrolled through the apprenticeship completing a range of training modules.
