It was great to escape the freezing UK temperatures and wake up the first morning at Robinsons Club to sunny skies and warm temperatures.  Our first day was spent firstly in the morning looking at our swings and fundamentals.  In the afternoon the short game was the focus with chipping, bunkers and putting on our list. Just got back from a spectacular week in Tavira, Portugal, as my first official coaching week for David and wow, what a great trip it was. Eight wonderful clients joined me and on one of the days we had the pleasure of Chris from Barney’s group who was staying at the Robinsons resort. Our mornings kicked off with coaching sessions that truly set the tone for what was to be an incredible week. The Gran Canaria week followed on from Valle del Este, and due to our beloved airlines cancelling flights, rearrangements meant 3 of us departing the hotel for a three hour drive to Malaga at 1:30 a.m.! However, leaving a week of sunshine with temperatures in the low 20’s for another week of sunshine in the mid/high 20’s it was a small price to pay! I know I’ve said this before, but Valle del Este does exactly what it says on the tin! Yes, it’s a little remote and not the easiest place to get to, and yes, it is an on resort location. No, there is not a great deal worth visiting in the region on the free day or for evening meals off resort. However, the hotel is a comfortable 4 star, the breakfast and evening Buffet superior to many similar Spanish four star hotels, drinks very reasonably priced and helpful friendly staff.
