I recently starting considering this 2010 Accord, it’s got 160k KMs (almost 100k miles) on it. Mechanically, relatively decent. Just had a power steering oil leek from the pinion assemble and needs a set of motor mounts. If it was just that I would’ve bought the car then and there, however upon test driving it, I felt that it shifts late going into 3rd gear. I later took it to a mechanic and he said that it never had its fluid changed, and that it smelled burnt. Should I buy it and keep the oil as is and hope it lives for another 100k miles? Just noticed a strong smell of petrol coming from my drivers side door after not using my car (Honda Civic 2004) for a few days. The battery had died so I replaced it, and then when I started the car I noticed a strong smell of fuel. It may have been like this for a while because I can't smell it in the car, and this was a rare occasion when I started the engine with the door open. The smell goes away after 10 seconds or so.
