I’ve been adding tahini to everything recently. My friend found it weird, saying, Isn’t it only for savoury dishes? NOOOOOOOO! Tahini is so versatile and probably one of the best possible ways to get calcium into little ones. I’ve been dipping pretty much all of Vida’s food in it! I wanted to make her some of our baby led weaning blueberry oat bars, but thought, hold on, let’s put some tahini in! So I did just that, and they turned out beautifully. The never-ending quest to find enough recipes to satisfy our newly-weaned babies’ appetites and need to discover new flavours… I try to be as organised as possible with meals for my family, but it’s still the same every day for breakfast and lunch: what will she have today… Muffins that are not sweet but have vegetables in them are a great breakfast option (I serve alongside some fruit) and last few a good few days, so that takes the stress out of it for a few days at least! I am not a re-reader. I think that if I allowed my inherent nature to make of all of my decisions, I probably would be, on account of my insatiable need to absorb every last tidbit of (often irrelevant) information that I come across. But another, perhaps more pertinent part of my nature is, unfortunately, my unrelenting and sometimes suffocating fear of missing out. Another wonderfully palatable and nutritious baby blend for weaning onto solids… Ingredients (to make enough to freeze in small portion sizes in a food cube tray) Half a cauliflower 1 tin organic, salt free sweetcorn Method Cut the cauliflower into florets then place into steamer with the sweetcorn and steam until soft.
