Finally, we got back on the water. This time at Meacham Lake in upper state New York, just on the north edge of the Adirondack Mountains (you can see the push pin on the map). 90 degrees hot so we wore our sun-umbrella hats. This Scoodic Point is one of our favorite places to visit when we're up here in Northeast Maine. Something about the rocks, the fog, the remoteness of it is very appealing.  You can see the Red push pin to the right of the map with Acadia National Park right in the middle on Mt. Desert Island. With the parking lot to the top, you can see how large an area this encompasses. And look at the stripes of black rock. I'll show those in another photo below. Here's one that is very unusual. You've heard of people that collect anything...match sticks, gum wrappers, beer cans, etc. But, I bet you never heard of people collection Coleman products...especially Coleman lanterns!! There are over 75 lanterns set up here...each one brought over for a Night Glow photo event on the last day of their gathering! Here's a close up as they are arriving. All colors and models. We've already started our summer trip but never posted anything else for our May Nevada trip soooo.. MONO LAKE, CALIFORNIA This was an unexpected stop...did not realize how much there was to see and do...but we tried to fit them all in. Bodie, The Mill Town, a couple of kayak lakes, Tioga Pass, Mono Lake Tuffas, the largest Jeffery Pine forest in the world, an obsidian volcano and a mountain side of pumice. One of the places we've always wanted to visit...well, actually I've always to visit....is the Bonneville Salt Flats on the Great Salt Lake outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. We'll get to our visit in a bit, but first.... This is where the world land speed records are set for vehicles. The current speed record is 763.035 mph (1227.986 km/h (the record-breaking speed averaged over the 2 runs of the measured mile). Twin Falls will be the largest city we visit this month with over 51,000 people. We thought this would be a nice first stop to get our coach organized as it's only about 165 miles from our home....and boy....did we organize! Well, Kim has done most of it while I slept in....zzzzzzzzzzzz. The big attraction in Twin Falls is the Shoshone Falls.  It's early March and the winter is finally starting to relax it's hold on us. Weather is in the 50's, almost getting into the 60's !  One thing nice about the winter....we get great views from our deck during the morning...and afternoon.... ...and, yes, we got some snow.... We're getting cabin fever and are itching to get back out on the road but we have doctor's appointments in late April, so May looks like when we will start.
