Hey y’all! I’ve always wanted to start foil boarding and kit boarding. Do you have any advice on how to start from day one when buying equipment from scratch and ongoing out to the bay or any other NorCal locations great for this sport? submitted by /u/WhiskeyadayDoctor [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Milos. Device looks so nice... But apparently a flop.. Waterproof radio w/ VOX. Very heavy.. usually more than half a pound.. Hard to carry.. BB talkin. You need to wear a helmet or a hat. but possibly the best option right now. Any new inventions nowadays? **Alternative option i've found myself. Phone in waterproof pouch, bluetooth connects to Shokz Openrun. As long as phone is above the water, it works okay. We can literally be on discord together talking. But if wind is strong it is still tough to hear. submitted by /u/Maxifloxacin [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey everyone, I am looking to get a new board, but i havent been staying up to date with the options these days. Me: 6'1". 240lbs Kiting since 2008. Mainly Ontario on small, choppy lakes. Meh wind (10-20 knots on average) I have a 16m and a 12m SB m (2011). Boards: Door for light winds (160x55) and an old custom (140x40) that weighs a ton and beat up that i am looking to replace. I would like something to progress, that rides nice in the chop and can add some nice pop to get my big ass jumping when there is some nice wind or im down south. Heard Carbon boards are rough on the knees so looking ..read more

Flysurfer Sonic v4 vs Soul as a beginner to foil kites.

Hello, I am an advanced rider with LEI (inflatable) kites and I have a large interest in foil kites. The sonic is higher performance than the soul in almost all aspects, however it is more difficult to fly. I feel like I might outgrow the soul quick, and as someone that can only afford one kite, a progression kite is not feasible. Thoughts? Thank you. submitted by /u/ChikenPikenFpv [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good day everyone I had an 2 hour lesson with a 7m airrush kite and did pretty well . I started with waterboarding and almost stood on the board . I did some research on the 2018 north vegas kite and my instructor said its not a beginner kite but google says is not that difficult. I bought the kite and when i tried to set it up i couldnt get the kite in the air . The only diffrence is that it has 5 line instead of 4 and when i connected my old naish bar i had lots of slack in the middle line . I assume the bar is the problem so what bar should i get . Any tips Thanks submitted by /u/No-Wash ..read more

Hello all! Brand new here. Getting beginner lessons lined up. (Waiting for a good day) One session is 3 hrs. Everywhere I read and look says you'll need more than that to get basics down. So I come here to ask what can one fully expect from their first 3 hour session? I'm hoping it'll give me a basis to decide if i want to invest into the sport or if it's just not for me. submitted by /u/Some-Principle4591 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I am seeking help from someone who would be familiar with both Naxos and Dakhla, to help me compare spots for someone who has never done kite. Here is the context: Me and my 3 brothers all know how to kite and really enjoy it. We have decided to organize a family trip in August this year, with our respective wives who (for most) have never done kitesurf. One of them has tried a few times in Brazil, and was scared. Our objective is to get them to discover kite surf and get them to enjoy it so that in the long term we can share this activity as a family. We also want to spend time with e ..read more
