I did not write a transits article for this current Lunar Cycle, and I will likely not be writing one for the upcoming one. I am going through many changes in my life which are making it difficult for me to keep up with regular blog articles. One of the changes is that I have been seriously studying Jyotish, which is also known as Indian or Vedic Astrology. Last Autumn, I received my Certificate in the Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology from Kepler College, and I have taken two more classes there since that time. I am still a long way off from being able to practice Jyotish professionally, but th ..read more

Solar Eclipse of April 30, 2022
The Stars Within Their Courses | Cynthia J. Thinnes, Astrologer

There will be a partial Solar Eclipse on April 30, 2022. It will be visible in the Southern countries of South America, such as Argentina and Chile. Eclipses have traditionally been seen as bad omens, and I agree that, for the most part, they are. They represent a temporary triumph of Dark over Light. I discuss my thoughts about eclipses in the video below: Even so, every eclipse is different, and sometimes positive things may come from them. For a deeper discussion of this, see: Can Eclipses Bring Good Things? The Eclipse of April 30, 2022, is likely to be rather mild. The chart is mild for ..read more

Much of this year will be governed by the the interplay of Jupiter and Saturn. Saturn has been dominant for the past couple of years and is not backing down easily. Even so, Jupiter has broken free from Saturn’s hold, and during the Lunar Cycle from March 2 to March 31, 2022, she will start to gain power. This means that we will start to gain more freedom from Saturn’s heavy restrictions. They will not be gone completely, but they will have less of an impact on our lives. There are currently things happening on the world stage that could be a bit troubling. They seem to be related the Outer P ..read more

The first Lunar Cycle of the year will begin on January 2, 2022, and end on January 30, 2022. During this time, we will see Jupiter peek out from Saturn’s reign. The past two years have been dominated by Saturn. For more information about this, see: 2022 – The Emergence of Jupiter Saturn’s influence will still be quite strong in January, but her power will be weaker than it had been. Things will begin to start feeling lighter and less restrictive. An optimistic attitude will start to feel more reasonable. 2022 – The Emergence of Jupiter
The Stars Within Their Courses | Cynthia J. Thinnes, Astrologer

2022 promises to be a change from the previous two years. The last two years were dominated by Saturn, but this year Jupiter will emerge from Saturn’s reign and start to shine in her own right. There will still be challenges, but the heaviness of the past two years will start to lift. The Jupiter/Saturn cycle In Mundane Astrology, which is the type of astrology that focuses on larger concerns of the world and society, the Jupiter/Saturn Cycle is extremely important. Jupiter/Saturn Conjunctions are known as Great Conjunctions and they mark major shifts in the world as well as generations. Grea ..read more

Capricorn Ingress 2021 – A Pleasant Season
The Stars Within Their Courses | Cynthia J. Thinnes, Astrologer

There are four times a year in which the Sun reaches a turning point. These are the two Equinoxes, when the length of day and length of night are equal, and the two Solstices, when the Sun is the highest and the lowest in the sky. Western Astrology primarily uses the tropical zodiac, which is based on these turning points, and this is where the Cardinal Signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn begin. The chart for the entry of the Sun into these signs will give information that pertains to the entire season. For more information about the Cardinal Signs, see: Signs of Change, the Cardinal&n ..read more

Transits – October 6 to November 3, 2021: Mars in Libra

The transits between October 6 and November 3 of 2021 will be dominated by Mars in Libra. In 2020, we had about six months of Mars in Aries, which is the sign opposite to Libra. Mars is the planet of conflict, and Aries is one of the signs that she rules. As would be expected, this was an extremely volatile time on the world stage. One year later, Mars has moved halfway around the zodiac and is in the sign of Libra. Libra is the sign of peace and harmony. It is ruled by Venus, and Saturn is exalted there. This sign avoids conflict and direct action. Yet, Mars is still Mars no matter what sign ..read more

Libra Ingress 2021 – A Glimmer of Hope

A couple of days ago, the Sun moved into Libra. This marked the Equinox, when the length of day and night are equal all over the world. In the Northern Hemisphere, the days will be getting shorter from now until the Solstice. In the Southern Hemisphere, the days will be getting longer. We can draw up a chart for the Cardinal points, the Solstices and the Equinoxes, in order to get a sense of what the season will be like. The chart for the previous Solstice was a difficult one. For more information, see: Cancer Ingress 2021 – Resistance to Change The chart for the Equinox, however, is muc ..read more

Transits August 8 to September 5, 2021: Big Ideas and Practical Details

2021 has been a rather quiet year with respect to transits. As with every year, there is a lot going on in the world, and some people’s lives will be calm and other’s will be chaotic. Still, the overall astrological weather is neither a big help nor a big hindrance. This has been true for most of the year, and it continues to be true for this Lunar Cycle. The Lunation Charts are a little more active than they have been this past year, but overall, the transits are still quite mild. There will not be a lot of push for taking the initiative or getting things accomplished. Instead, the focus wil ..read more

Transits – July 9 to August 7, 2021: Vacation Time

I have been writing monthly transits articles for several years now, and they can sometimes be challenging. For the years leading up to 2020 and during 2020, the transits were extremely difficult, and the challenge was to report them without scaring my readers too much. This Lunar Cycle, there is the opposite challenge. Not much is happening with respect to transits, especially not during the first two weeks. This means that there will not be a push to get things done, but there will also not be any real obstructions either. It is a good time to relax, take a break, or go on a vacation. Thing ..read more
