From builder grade to a custom staircase. While we picked out the red oak treads and risers, sanded and stained, our contractors ripped out the carpet and prepared the canvas. Next on the renovation list was the dining room. While it’s a small room and only needed minor updates like paint and change of light fixture, I think the transformation is still drastic. During our kitchen renovation (see blog post here), we decided to move the pantry out of the kitchen. Instead, we turned our coat closet under the staircase into a functional and organized pantry. It’s in the hallway right behind the kitchen wall so the location is not too far from the kitchen. I don’t like clutter at all, which also means clutter on the countertops. I can’t believe our baby is now three! THREE! Where does time go?! It feels like the other day we were celebrating his first birthday (here if you haven’t seen it).
