The summer of 2020 will be one that we’ll never forget. In fact, it’s likely that it’ll be included in the history books for years to come. And sadly, not for a good reason. Remember on Dec 31, 2019 when literally everyone was talking about how 2020 will be THE YEAR! …thinking back, I wish I would have asked “the year of what exactly? Just need to clarify so that I’m prepared…” BUT – despite all the craziness that’s gone on over the last few months, 2020 has given us some gems and for that – I’m thankful. For example, the booze business – THRIVING! Why? Because everyone is at home and what th ..read more

Things are weird right now, aren’t they? Kind of an abrupt way to start off a blog post, but it’s the first and most relevant thing that came to mind when I sat down to right this intro because THINGS ARE WEIRD RIGHT NOW. The global COVID-19 pandemic that’s now caused state-wide mandatory stay-at-home orders, has shut down hundreds of thousands of businesses across the country, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and even more devastating…thousands of lives have been lost. It’s an extremely difficult time right now for all of us. Even those that DO still have their jobs and their heal ..read more

We live in a time where everyone has a platform. To me, it’s both a blessing and a curse. Social media has been overrun with #fakenews and propaganda. While I’m glad that people have an outlet that they may not have had in the past, what used to be used as social networking and sharing platforms, have quickly turned into personal online diaries. A place where people just spew their thoughts on literally everything! Topics in which they would NEVER even consider bringing up in person, face-to-face in front of a friend, colleague, acquaintance or stranger. It’s bizarre! I can’t tell you how many ..read more

Meet Colette: The Queen Bee of CBD

CBD…THC…BRB. Seriously though…brb because I can’t even keep up with what’s the latest and greatest and it’s actually my job! That said, I can only imagine what it’s like out there for people that are genuinely curious about CBD. CBD by the way, is short for Cannabidiol, one of the many chemical compounds found in marijuana and hemp. Thing is, you’re probably already familiar with THC, which is another compound found in the cannabis plant. But unlike THC, CBD isn’t psychoactive. Meaning, it doesn’t get you high like THC does. This fact alone is probably one of the most frequently ask ..read more

The Truth About Starting a New Life in a New City

***SPOILER ALERT: It’s really freakin’ hard!*** It’s been seven months since I picked up my life and moved to another state…alone! And while I don’t regret my decision one single ounce, there’s a part of me that wishes things were a little different. Creating a new network, making new friends and putting down roots in a brand new place as a 30-something adult is hard! Though not surprising… as most of you know, I did it 10 years ago when I moved to Boston, but that was different. My network back in New York wasn’t as great back then because I had recently come out of college, and my priorities ..read more

Hi. It’s me. If you could see me right now, you’d see that my head is down and shame is written all over my face. I moved out of Boston and you haven’t heard from me since. First, I’M SORRY! Second, update: I’m alive! And well. Very well in fact. The last three months have been nothing short of…insane! I’ve only spent about three weekends here in Raleigh since I moved (crazy, right!? My travel schedule has had me all over the country!) so the time that I have had in my new home has been spent exploring as much as humanly possible. That said, I’ve started to get a nice little bucket of conten ..read more

Two weeks ago, I celebrated my nine year anniversary of living in Boston. Each year I celebrated that as an accomplishment because I moved from a small town, on my own, with no financial help. Plenty of emotional support along the way though – (thanks, Mom!), but since then – I’ve pretty much been on my own. To me, that is (and was!) a huge accomplishment. Each year, on April 24th, I stop to reflect on the hard work that I’ve put in over the past year and to celebrate how much I have achieved. This past anniversary for me though was slightly different… While proud of what I had done over the l ..read more

Let’s face it – we all like a good night in. Some more than others but the inevitable happens every. single. time. You grab a drink, a snack and curl up on the couch only to “surf” for the next 20 minutes trying to find something to watch. It’s not for lack of content – it’s just…what are you in the mood for? And will it even be good? Cause let’s be honest…you don’t want to waste your perfect Friday night with something dumb and then wish you would have chose something else instead. We’ve all been there, amIright? Well, I’m here to help to the inevitable from happening. One my most popular po ..read more
