How busy does Big Cottonwood Regional Park (area by 4500s) get during off-hours? Are there a lot of off leash dogs?

specifically the area just south of 4500s. Maybe in comparison to sugarhouse park? I go to sunnyside park in the mornings and there is nobody there until ~7:30am, then no one past ~8pm (given the daylight hours rn). Whereas sugarhouse park is quite popular all the time. Looking to try going to Big Cottonwood regional park with my dog because we will be moving closer that way soon but I am unfamiliar with it, so I don’t want to go and be bombarded with off leash dogs (I am working on training my dog) and not know where to go to escape. How is it early mornings? submitted by /u/ndisnxksk [visi ..read more

Where do people sell used furniture and electronics?

Hey all, I was wondering what platforms people use these days to sell used items. I'm doing some home cleaning and getting rid of a few things. Back in the day, I would sell through Facebook, but now there's a lot of spam and bots there. Where do you look for used items? I have a nice all-wood entertainment center, a Sonos sound bar, a Switch OLED, and a 2-drawer wine cabinet buffet. Edited for grammar. submitted by /u/Far_Touch_1607 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi! Long time Google Fiber client in SLC but recently had a door to door guy from Quantum offering $35 for ~1 gig speeds. Has anyone had any experience with them and has made the switch? It service is comparable - seems worthwhile to switch for cost savings but curious to learn what others have experienced! submitted by /u/Zealousideal-Ship362 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am planning to move to the Sophie apartments on 200 W and my partner is concerned with how safe the area is. Google street view does not seem too concerning and am looking for a second opinion on if it is safe. Would a woman be able to safely commute to work on a bike during night/day? much appreciated! submitted by /u/Unfair-Watch1895 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Are homes only for the upper middle class or Utah natives?

I just moved to Ogden for work (Clearfield is where my work is) but I can’t seem to find a decently priced home that isn’t rundown or in a trailer park. Most of these nice cookie-cutter homes are way down south of SLC or $500k+. Is living in north SLC or Ogden just that impossible for people who just moved here? submitted by /u/Sure_Actuator_6158 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I've tried looking this up, but I can't seem to find any accurate info. Basically, we rent a quite expensive house in Millcreek, that has a basement apartment and shared backyard (divided with a fence) The basements is a small 2 br apartment, they rented it to 4 people right after we moved in, we 1 month later 2 more people moved in, 2 months later 4 more moved in. Right now we are at 6 males, 2 females, 1 screaming toddler & 1 crying newborn living in the 2 br basement apartment. It has gotten so bad, they don't respect quiet hours, they have blasting music all day long, those kids sound ..read more

Need housing help, not an income issue.

Hello. Due to a series of bad decisions, we are in desperate need of housing in the salt lake valley. We have a recent “skip” on our record, which is obviously presenting some issues. Income is not really the issue, as I personally met around $4500 per month and my spouse will be able to work when we find a place and get back to salt lake. The issue is our rental history and finding a place that will give us a chance. I understand we put ourselves in this predicament. But we are trying to do anything we can to fix it. Is this something the housing authority may be able to help with? Any sugge ..read more
