Hi Doll Friends! Long time no write! I think probably the longest break I've taken between posts since I started my blog in earnest nearly ten years ago. Life just seems to get busier and busier and I have been pulled into my other hobby of card making when I have time to hobby at all. I've been very busy leading several LifeGroups or studies at church and just doing life.  A few months ago, I found these clown dolls and I bought them for my daughter because she collects clown dolls. I was able to get them for 75% off and so paid only $2.50 for each of them.  She loved the ..read more

My Childhood Fisher Price Doll House! Thrift Store Sightings!

Hi Doll Friends! So I was on the Facebook the other day and what should pop up in my feed? A Poshmark ad for...   *drum roll* The exact same doll house I got  in 1982 for Christmas & my Birthday when I was 10 years old!  I say for my birthday and Christmas is because it was pretty expensive (for the time) and since I wanted it so badly my mother said I could have it if it counted as both. It was made by Fisher Price and had actual working lights! I loved it. Here is a post about it from This Old Toy Blog. Rather than plunking down the $75 the Poshmark ..read more

Hi Doll Friends!! Had to come say a quick hello and show you my most recent thrift store score!  I've always wanted the Wellie Wisher doll named Willa... I have so many dolls though and three of the Wellie Wishers. I got Ashlyn first, then came Emerson, and recently I got Kendall... So spending $65 for another doll when I have so many just never seemed right. However, recently I went to a thrift store and low and behold what do I see? Willa!! Sitting there in part of her original outfit! For only $6.99! So how could I not! I had to bring her home. Still need to brush out her hair and ..read more

Our Generation Festive Feast Playset; A Review Three Years Later

Hi Doll Friends! It's almost Thanksgiving! How does your family celebrate? Tell me in the comments? What is your favorite tradition or food? I love Green Bean Casserole myself... And dressing!! Not stuffing, dressing! I moved to Alabama in 2020 and discovered the difference. I never liked stuffing but dressing..? I could eat an entire 13x9 inch pan of it all by itself. Haha.  Speaking of Thanksgiving... It's been over three years since I originally bought a really cute set from Our Generation called "Festive Feast"... Or actually I apparently bought two of them. I unboxed them ..read more

Our Generation Mirna; New Doll In The Doll House and a Rice Cooker too!

Hi Doll Friends, I finally caved and had to get a doll with this adorable dimpled face sculpt from Our Generatrion. Our Generation Mirna was the one of them that I finally decided to get. She is so beautiful. As soon as she arrived I couldn't help myself but to get her out and take photos of her.  Since there was a Buy-One-Get-One half-price sale going on when I bought her I also decided to grab the Our Generation Sushi Supreme set at the same time. It comes with a rice cooker that has a working light and 'beeps' when it's done. How fun is that? I spent my early 20's ..read more

Tropical Backgrounds From Temu!

Hi Doll Friends, I am reasonably sure I've purchased every single option that Temu has for backdrops. Hahaha. Or actually the ones I've been buying are marketed as 'wall tapestries' but they work so well as backdrops for dolls and none of them have been more than about $5.00. How could I not? This way my dolls can 'travel' without ever leaving my doll room. Since my time is limited, taking dolls out and about for doll photos it just more difficult so having the 'venues' right here at home is so convenient. Not to mention I don't have to worry about my dolls being blown over by the wind into ..read more

Finally Unpacked The China Cabinet Contents! So much fun!

Hi Doll Friends! Slowly slowly but surely, I'm putting my doll room together. This week I decided it was way past time to unpack some of the 'fancy' doll teapots, teacups, stemware, unusual bottle collection and vases. I got a china cabinet for them way back in July and it's just been sitting empty. So, I pulled out the black tote that they'd just been sitting in for nearly three years and started unpacking. Let me tell you, it was a bit like Christmas! I mean I vaguely remembered what all I had but unwrapping each item, one by one, from their newspaper/paper towel wrappings was so m ..read more

American Girl Doll 2023 Catalog

Hi Doll Friends! Since I got my Claudie Doll this year, I got back on the mailing list for American Girl Doll's Holiday Catalog. It just arrived in the mail this week. It was so much fun to flip through and see the new dolls. Once upon a time, when I was little, we somehow got a catalog in the mail for 'high end' dolls and I flipped through it so often that it nearly fell apart... When I was in my early 20's, when I thought I was too old for dolls *giggles*, I'd get the American Girl Doll Catalog just because I signed up for it. Even the Sears Roebuck catalog would come out every ..read more

How is it nearly November!! Dolls in stasis...

Hi Doll Friends, Where does the time go?  I can hardly believe it's nearly November or that I haven't posted on blog since early September. I just keep having other things in my life keep me too busy to do doll related stuff. I jokingly think of my dolls as being in stasis, just waiting for me to have time to go in and give them 'life' again. So I am kind of posting this as a prayer and a promise to myself and to you my dear reader, that I will eventually get back to posting at least occasionally. These are two photos I snapped just this morning in the doll room... I still have ..read more
