Material Recommendations For Outdoor Mew

Hello All, I’m working building out a mew on paper first, but wanted to get an idea of what materials people recommend to use? Are there woods that you’ve found that work better, I’m in a colder climate in the northeast if that helps? Also, I’ve been looking at metal roofing panels and PVC as well for the walls / roof for the enclosed / covered half? Thank you, any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Apex2024 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I want to start the process now but moving states soon

Hey all, I’m very interested in falconry and have the available time, finances, background, etc. to help able to pursue this further. I was exposed to it from a young age, with a neighbor of mine who let me watch him fly his red tailed hawks, and feed when he was away. I am moving states in approximately 4 months, so would that make any time spent with a sponsor in my current state be null and void? Or does the state designation of falconers license not matter when it comes to your two year apprenticeship? Thank you submitted by /u/OkRule7649 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Have you guys heard what going on in Michigan

So apparently they were going to talk about making non-resident able to take goshawks in MI and then they change the conversation to the Goshawk will be moved from NRC jurisdiction to the Threatened and Endangered (T&E) committee. the concern is that they will make it so you can't do any wild takes. the last thing I want to ask is how likely is it for them to remove wild takes for Goshawks that is a dream I have to one day be able to train a passive Goshawk one day. submitted by /u/2Q2see [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So I'm in the back yard working on building a chicken coop, and I hear a red shoulder raising hell, they're everywhere and like to scream at me so I didn't pay it much mind at first. After a little I decided to take a break and check out what it was going on about, watched it stoop into the woods a few times, after a little a redtail came out of the woods and started soaring. The red shoulder chased it and stooped a time or two but didn't get too close, I lost sight of the redtail. For the next half hour or so the red shoulder, a decent sized juvenile (I'm pretty sure, couldn't really see the ..read more

**Misunderstood in Britain but prized in the Middle East** *Posting this article is an exercise in utilizing ChatGPT to extract content from "The Falconers Magazine," Issue 1, 1989. I acknowledge that reading articles directly from JPG images can be challenging, so I'm exploring this method as I progress with publishing digital versions of the magazines. This process is time-consuming, but I am committed to enhancing accessibility for our forum members.* The Saker Falcon is a truly magnificent hunting bird, but in Europe, particularly Great Britain, it is misunderstood and not rated very ..read more
