Mouse is killing my shoulder

My right shoulder has been killing me for years and I'm pretty sure it's related to using a mouse. I also had a head injury which may contribute to it too. I've done all sorts of things to remedy my pain... physical therapy, daily exercises, vertical mouse, standing desk, keyboard with no numpad, trackball, etc. I'm in a CAD design profession and I'm pretty much glued to my computer for 8 hours a day. I'm fairly young in my 30s so none of this pain gives me optimism for the career ahead of me. There's got to he a better way! I looked into mouse eye tracking but I think that would be hard to d ..read more

Are seat pads for office chairs any good?

I sit in my office chair a lot, but less than I need to because it's super uncomfortable and it's making me less productive because I just hate being at my desk, my butt starts to hurt after only about 30 minutes to an hour, I tried looking into getting a better chair but they are far outside my price range. (I was hoping for around $80 but willing to go up to $120, I had no idea how expensive chairs were) I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall and weigh 250 pounds, I've tried using a pillow or folded towel and they don't help much if at all. I've considered buying one of those seat pad/cushion things but ..read more

Is my sitting posture ok?

Hi everyone, 1 month ago I started facing shoulder pain issues which I can only attribute to the lack of fitness due to a lower back injury earlier this year + sitting + mouse use. I have been to a doctor and doing physio at the moment. The shoulder issues are better now, however, my wrist, forearms, and hands (extensor area) ache after minimal use of the computer. The only way to comfortably type is by resting my arms on the table, as in the pics. Any clues on how I should further improve my posture? Also, using the mouse hurts my right arm, close to the bicep area. Any clue on how to use th ..read more

Strapping my head to my headrest with a belt was the key to reducing my upper shoulder pain significantly

yes i have forward head posture how did u know. i follow all the physical training exercises/stretches and a pomodoro technique to limit continous sitting. but i would still fall into the habit occasionally of FHP (especially a good video game) and it would ruin my progress albeit emotionally mostly. not anymore lmao. the belt trick rocks. i also put a small rolled towel with minimal thickness on my upper back between the shoulder blades to force even more backward and downwards rotation of my shoulders. i actually feel my lats and lower trapezius aching instead of my neck and shoulders and i ..read more

Slanted desk for keying?
Reddit | Ergonomics

Hello- I have the opportunity to get a nice used sit stand desk. My biggest concern is that the desk is designed to slant down. This makes sense for writing, but is this an ergonomic nightmare for keying? It is deep enough that in theory I would be able to shove my keyboard forward and rest my forearms on the desk, but that would eliminate the 90 degree bend in the elbow. submitted by /u/bluart06 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Review my setup - shoulder pain

Please check out my setup and let me know if you see any issues that might be causing my terrible left shoulder pain. I am right handed and mouse right handed. My arms are very long compared to my torso so my desk is very low… like as low as it can be without crushing my thighs. Any thoughts appreciated. submitted by /u/nimsydeocho [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Just bought an ergonomic pillow but I'm not sure it actually improves my sleeping position, I feel like I'm more comfortable with the previous one. Took some pictures so I could check my neck and head alignment, what do you think? Before With ergonomic pillow submitted by /u/Qxz3 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
