Monzo rant

Just hacked off that Monzo has again blocked my transfer into kraken (I've already provided huge amounts of KYC info to them), and I haven't heard from them for 3 days despite chasers. I had a significant amount ready to load up on BTC in the past week and it's now gone up about 6% since then. Tempted to hold Monzo liable for the lost opportunity, but I know it wouldn't hold water in court. submitted by /u/Fun-Air-4314 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

CFDs and Spread Betting as a temporary backup solution to a lapse in market exposure

So I have a friend who was liquidated on a large amount and he wants to buy it back in, but he knows the banks have limits on buying in as quickly as he would like to. So I knew there was the option of CFDs and spread betting, and to get exposure to bitcoin price one (in the uk) could trade CFDs of IBIT (bitcoin ETF) as well as CDFs of microstrategy shares and a few other shares that give exposure to crypto prices. I know CFD trading is controversial and I understand the reasons why, but is it a viable option to get price exposure for 6-12 months simply as a backup solution whilst the real cr ..read more

The Path to a $1,000,000 Bitcoin “The purpose of this article is to look at the near-term horizon — a $1,000,000 Bitcoin — which will likely come a lot sooner than most people expect. There are three main factors in the current ‘number go up’ (NGU) trajectory, which we will look at in turn: 1). The halving 2). The ETFs and institutional adoption; and 3). The infinite feedback loop and the financial singularity…” submitted by /u/NJBridgewater [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi All, Say in the future I want to sell some crypto for pounds on kraken/ coincorner and transfer that money to my HSBC bank account, what would be the best way to go about this. I have read that I should call HSBC in advance to let them know of an incoming payment but what should I say, should I mention the word crypto, Kraken/ coincorner or exchange as I know they can be kind of touchy with the details. Is there any other precautions that I would need to take. Thank you for your help in advance. P.S. It would be great to know if any of you guys have any experience with this exchange/ bank ..read more

Novice Investor - Need help understanding UTXO's and HWW's

First time 'seriously' investing in Crypto with a long-term horizon and I have been doing some research over the past few days but I still do not understand how UTXOs work. From what I understand, If I was to hypothetically invest £100 a month into BTC through someone like Kraken - it would be very inefficient and expensive to withdraw and send that to a cold wallet due to UTXO's. Is the recommended practice to stack the BTC on the exchange until it reaches a specific amount and then bulk transferring it? If so, how would I know when I have hit the optimal amount etc.? Are there any resources ..read more
