Central AZ in the phoenix area. I thought they might be ants but they don't look like ants I have seen before. There is a large amount of these guys on my my wall and they were making a trail to my attic.

A friend of mine received this as a gift from her cousin in southern California. I don't know if it would be a local beetle. She did some Googling and came up with eupatorus gracilicornis (the five-horned rhinoceros beetle) but the specimen on Wikipedia is a much lighter color and the center horn is different.
