Bawri, BKC – A Phenomenal Dining Experience
The Vegetarian Bhukkad

BAWRI, Chef Amninder Sandhu’s latest venture in Mumbai, has been on my wish list since the closure of Arth a few years ago. Despite my anticipation for its opening in Goa, I never made it there. However, when Bawri opened in BKC, conveniently close to my home in Khar, I knew I couldn’t miss it. From the moment I stepped in, I had goosebumps, especially with “Tu Jhoom” playing in the background—a first for me in a restaurant setting. We were greeted warmly with a shower of rose petals, and the staff’s hospitality and attention to detail were truly commendable. Starting with the appetizers, we ..read more

10 Years, 10 Very Long Years

Today, as I sit to write a piece for this blog, I realise that it has been two long years since I did so. But today, of all days, I knew that I had to get back here and write. Write about how integral a part of my life TheVegetarianBhukkad has been, write about how much it has only selflessly given, write about what an adventurous ride the last 10 years have been, and most importantly, how much your support has mattered, at every single point of the last 10 years. I do not know, how many of you’ll may read this, or how many of you’ll may even come across this, but I am putting this out, for on ..read more

A Note, A Personal Note

These are trying times, times that make you angry, yet grateful; times that make you question everything, but at the same time, you appreciate and value every moment, every microsecond and everything you have. You let bygones be bygones, you focus on mending relations and everything you once upon a time took for granted. We all felt 2020 was horrible and one could not wait to leave it behind and start anew with 2021 but then, it hit us even worse. Personally, for me, 2020 gave me the lowest of lows, my weakest moments that left me so vulnerable and without hope but at the same time, 2020 gave ..read more

The Dehlvi Food Festival at ITC Grand Central, Mumbai

My love for north India and it’s food and how much I crave trips to Delhi and Amritsar for the fabulous food they have to offer is known to all.  There is something about waking up to aloo puri for breakfast followed by parathas and kulcha and channe and chaat and what not during the day.  So much so, I have even planned trips to the north surrounding food, which made sense for me to immediately head the ITC Grand Central the moment I came to know of their ongoing Dehlvi food festival, a curation of dishes that take you back to the olden days, of dishes that transport you to the old ..read more

Earlier this month, we celebrated World Chocolate Day, not only did we celebrate World Chocolate Day, we also celebrated 70 years of Cadbury in India! E  70 years of a brand that actually introduced India to the taste of chocolate, 70 years of a brand, that has consistently been the taste of chocolate in India, 70 years of making moments special, 70 years of being your companion through ups and downs, how many companies can boast of that? My grandparents and great grandparents, even to this day address a bar of chocolate as Cadbury, whatever it may actually be. And for us, getting a bar o ..read more

The Gujarati Food Festival, Tuskers, Sofitel, Mumbai

It always gives me so much joy when brands go out of the way to curate festivals and dining experiences revolving around regional cuisines in India, bringing an experience on a dining table that not many would have had a chance otherwise, thereby giving their guests a sneak peak into the rich culture and heritage of the said region and there by, also busting a lot of myths and highlighting facts in the process. What also makes gets me more excited is when a Gujarati Food Festival is hosted. All my love for Lebanese and Punjabi food put apart and then there is this part of me that only loves an ..read more

We all come across ups and downs in life, a lot of these are lessons that have been results of experiences with bad and good. Today was one such day! Almost a fortnight ago, I received an invite to review the newly launched Tasse De Thé in Bandra west. Already a big fan of their Fort outlet, I was super excited for this one and after a lot of planning, we finally visited it today, with my favourite people for company, Anahita aunty from sweetannu.com and I were doing a joint review. Everything was perfect, or we thought so! Tasse De Thé in Bandra is spread across two floors, a ground floor and ..read more
