I love a good no-waste recipe and method to make sure that our family is getting the most out of our money and also just being good stewards of what we've been given. Cooking a whole chicken is a great opportunity for no waste! Here's how you do it...
Roast chicken for dinner
Use the leftover chicken to make pesto chicken salad
Save the bones in a freezer bag until you're ready to make Bone Broth
After you've made your broth, remove the bones and make Bone Meal

Summer is full of adventures for our family, and I'm sure yours as well! We are constantly outside...at the beach...at the park...long playdates...nature hikes...etc! Because of this I like to be well stocked and prepared for all that comes our way in the summer, from scraped knees, to wet clothes, to hydration and safety for my children.

Have you ever felt intimidated over making sourdough? It does not have to be complicated. I will show you my very unfussy and forgiving sourdough recipe. Is it perfect and follow all the traditional sourdough rules? No, but it still offers a fantastic fermented loaf of bread to feed my family. I'm always learning and growing, sometimes I pay more attention and care to my bread, and other times I don't -- and that's okay! I hope this inspires you to get into the kitchen and make some sourdough.

We are gearing up for another year of homeschool and we are so excited! One thing I’ve learned over the last 2 years is to keep things really simple, have lots of grace for myself and my kids, and trust that they are getting everything they need with daily faithfulness in the education and discipleship of our children. Our philosophy is that their entire day at home is education, not just when they are at the school table.

You’ve been asking, so I am answering! Earlier this year I read a phenomenal book by Kim Brenneman called Home Management Plain and Simple. This book helped me gain control of our days and have a framework set in place so that as my kids needs change as they grow, our home management system can be easily adjusted.
Full disclosure, this book is VERY thorough. There are suggestions in it that would just be too much to handle or that really don’t serve my family the way it does for her having many more children than I do. But the great thing about it is how flexible her methods and practical tip ..read more
