Hey everyone, i accidentally deleted some audio files that I really need. I used DMDE and was able to find the deleted folder, but i cant go into the folder to get the actual files. When i right click on the folder and choose "recover" i am told that a file wasnt specified but when i look around at my options for things like "file category" i cant seem to find what I'm doing wrong. I did a full scan on the device if that makes a difference. It's an SD card formatted to exFAT Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Screenshots The "ZOOM0011" folder is the one i need Edit: i tried to use GetDa ..read more

WD My Book password recovery

Hello, I'm at a loss right now as I'm trying to access my WD My Book. Using the WD Security software I had set a password and I know that it's either a 9 or 10 digit number (only numbers). I remember the first 6 digits, but for the life of me cannot figure out the last few. After 5 failed attempts I have to unplug the My Book and plug it back in so that I can attempt another 5. I can continue this indefinitely. Is there anyway to automate the process? There aren't any letters or special characters, only numbers, so hoping there's a way to figure this out. Especially considering that I do ..read more

an external 3.5 HDD i cracked open for internal use but had to resume using externally after i bought a new pc is suddenly shows as uninitialized. Another company attempted to rebuild the SMR style translator, but failed and the drive reads 0x00's everywhere. a place that specialized in this particular problem says it's impossible to fix on a 3.5 and i'm really hoping that's not true so if anyone knows of any possible fixes or recovery places who can try, let me know. submitted by /u/BatNipsForever [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

hello, one of my hdd wd10ezex model which is a wd blue 1tb 7200rpm drive stopped being detected, the drive spins normally and without any noise such as clicking but fails to get recognized by both system bios and any operating systems. I managed to get a same logic board/ pcb with matching serial number of the following hdd and connected it to my pc and it then got detected in the bios as a generic 2199GB drive but still did not show up in the windows device manager or disk management. Later I even swapped the hdd rom chip and with the original rom chip in donor board configuration it does no ..read more

Hey all, hoping for some advice. S22 Ultra, phone took a nasty spill and device stopped connecting to Sim Card and Wifi - total no service mode, but the phone was working. I took it to a phone repair shop, and in the process of trying to fix it, they completely bricked it. Phone no longer turns on. None of the data was backed up to my knowledge, and would love to be able to pull the data off of it. Any ideas would be great! submitted by /u/Head-Wishbone5554 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Please help me recover files from a USB stick

I have a usb stick that has old files on it from high school. The usb stick was in a retractable usb drive but the case was damaged somehow, and I kept the USB thinking I'd be able to recover the items (which were super important at the time, no idea what they are now) at a later date. I tried the usb on my computer but it doesn't recognise a usb at all. https://preview.redd.it/yewkcoff0nwc1.jpg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09c20a913a195a5dbe853d957a8e8a60d54ea279 https://preview.redd.it/6nu0htff0nwc1.jpg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77f69348d15c2d64305 ..read more

I'm using a "2-in-1 USB-C & USB 3.0 SD/TF Card Reader" made by UGREEN to read the sd card and while I'm copying I noticed Teracopy sometimes "stopping" and after a while continuing. So I checked the "event viewer" and I saw many errors like: "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk8\DR8." "New attempt for I/O operation at logical block address 0x5c6480 for disk (PDO name: \Device\0000a9) 9." "Error in device \Device\Harddisk8\DR8 during a paging operation." Some time ago I plugged by mistake the sd card in the adapter with the usb c port in a regular usb 3.0 and I got ..read more

I took a LOT of pictures on my Nikon camera onto a microSD card that I had with all my main photos. I have this adapter that lets me transfer files from my phone onto microSD and vise versa and I initially used that to transfer files. It wasn't until I bought this new 1TB microSD that I realized my transfers (from phone to new 1TB SD) kept crashing and none of the files were moved. I tried moving pictures from my original 64gb microSD to the 1TB one with my pc and things went haywire mid transfer and when I looked, a vast majority of my files had been put a in a LOST.DIR folder and I would gr ..read more
