Hey Folks, I have recently joined an org which uses Scala only for the Backend tasks. I came from the Go Lang background where I can see hell lot of opportunities. But in Scala things are little bit opposite, you need to search for the job role and still there are less chances. I miss the motivation of work after thinking all of these things because of no such scope in future. I have worked on Kotlin earlier and liked that because that is high demand language. Can someone help me if I'm taking it in wrong way.... and sorry for such a noob question but it is something which disturb me sometime ..read more

I am one of these "Scala as better Java devs", working like that for years, but from time to time I am trying to explore more of Scala world with Cats Effect.
Everytime I try to make some basic apps with Cats Effects by myself, I end up thinking that it provides a lot of great solutions for the problems I introduced by using it.
What I understand is that making my code pure functional, will make some things like - testing or blocking IO handling easier, but at the cost of wrapping classic lines of codes in framework specific constructs. Is it worth it? I don't feel that my code is better and ..read more
