Do you have anything interesting or noteworthy to add? I know this sub has some strong Believers and just want to get some additional opinions. Thank you!
The first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. The second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself. In these two rest all the law and the prophets.

Just curious. How would you go about trying to get someone to become Calvinist without quoting the Bible? Maybe this could be helpful in trying to teach it to a child or someone new to Christianity.

My fellow Calvinists, how do you explain "1 John 2:2 NIV - He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."?
This seems to be contradicting limited atonement.

"Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth." Why would God harden someone that's totally depraved?

I have had several discussions with Christians who do not believe in predestination. The problem for them always seems to be God taking away people's free will and it not being fair. I always seems to me that they are more concerned with the rights of people over the will and glory of God. Now, I do believe that we have free will, but that it is under God's sovereignty. They don't like the 5 points of Calvinism because they either don't like it being beyond our full comprehension, or they don't like that it takes away man's part and credit in it.
Thoughts about this observation and have you s ..read more

Are any other reformed folks absolutely disgusted with the Loki series? I know, far be it from me to believe Disney would put out anything scripturally sound lol.
But the show is inherently anti biblical; it sets itself up as the direct enemy of Calvinism.
A show where the devil is the "righteous" one and wants to give "free will" to the masses.
(To be clear, free will doesn't exist. I know that)
A show where the "villain" is the person who predestined and wrote all of history and this is seen as a bad thing. Who is a king of order and is seen as "evil" for killing who he wishes and saving wh ..read more

If God created them to be vessels of dishonor and did not grace them in any way, were they simply nothing more than robots, NPCs or figurants in the 'Movie of Life'? If from the beginning they do not have the capacity for salvation, that is what they are.
They are lacking the "Divine Spark".
They were created to be rejected. All of this gives us a comprehensive understanding of the suffering of those who are not chosen, because after all, it doesn't matter what their fate is, they are going to hell anyway.
Whereas the chosen ones have been graced with salvation and will receive God's love no ..read more
