Just retook A + P 1. Got a C the first time and it’s 8 yrs old. Found out I got a C again. :( my gpa for my first degree (psychology) was 3.8 and nursing degree (BSN) was 3.2. Retaking GRE (got a 294) but feel like an idiot. Plan on applying next year. I’ve worked icu for 3 years, rolling into my 4th year of icu and 5 years of nursing total. CRNA gets called to the Emergency Department to do “moderate sedation” on a closed reduction of an ankle fracture. According to hospital policy and procedure, moderate sedation is allowed to be performed by RN’s in the Emergency Room and the patient must respond to verbal stimulation. The patient ate a full breakfast of sausage and eggs at 0900 and broke the ankle in a traumatic accident at noon. The time now is 3 pm; so 6 hours has passed since NPO. Do you guys know of any Canadians or Internationals who successfully went the CRNA route recently? I've been doing quite a lot of research through most of the large places reddit/allnurses/here and aside from a discussion a decade ago in 2009 by a Canadian RN who moved to the states even earlier, I have not found anything recent. I'm aware of the hurdles and have a general plan, but was really to connect with someone who has successfully done it or is currently doing it.(This is super long, and I'm aware most of you won't be able to help... I am looking for feedback from any CRNA's that work at other VAMC's. I am a CRNA at the VA in Houston. I would like to know if any CRNA's at other facilities are getting step increases based on performance? We do get a Step increase every 2 years assuming we have a satisfactory performance evaluation. For the past 4 years I have had outstanding performance evaluations. Additionally have made significant contributions to our department, that has improved the workflow, and minimized wasted man hours. what's the highest you've run a pressor like NE, neo and/or vasopressin? Walked into an ICU room 2 weeks ago and the neo was going at 200 cc/hr. The problem did not turn out to be poor vasomotor tone. How high have you gone and why ..read more
