We’re 12 days into January which means the resolutions are starting to get real. *Anyone else bite off a bit more than they could chew with dry-January this year * The concept of a New Year’s Resolution is great – let us be better in the new year. More salads? Less swearing? Log more gym time and less Netflix binge time? These are all wonderful ideas, and I am a HUGE believer in a renewed sense of self-care – I just don’t like setting myself up for failure. I have been self-conscious about my body for as long as I can remember, and on the flip side, I have also hated exercising as long as I c ..read more

Health and Wellness // A Modern Mom’s Guide to CBD
Always Us Travel Blog

For the past year or two I’ve heard buzzing about the benefits of CBD, but never thought much of it. To be honest, having very little information on the subject I assumed it was 1.) Illegal, 2.) Going to get me high, and 3.) A little shady and/or 4.) Another multi-level marketing scheme. Hover over the image to Pin for later! As many of you know, I’ve struggled in personal battles with postpartum depression and anxiety, and as such, in the past few years I’ve put lots of research into homeopathic methods to combat my anxiety and depression, as well as the day to day stressors that come with li ..read more

Mental Health // Overcoming Impostor Syndrome

During the #IMPERFECTISHUMAN campaign on Instagram, I shared about my battle with “Fraud Complex” or Impostor Syndrome. During my research on the topic, I came across an article by N’deye Fana Gueye which she was so gracious to let me share on this platform. This is one of those articles where I read paragraph after paragraph thinking ‘YES!’ As a millennial working mother consistently struggling with fears of inadequacy, these words were comforting and supportive for me, as I hope they’ll be for any others battling these illogical negative thoughts. This post originally published by N’deye Fan ..read more

Warning: I am in NO way a toddler sleep guru! As a Mom of two under three (and just a very short time ago, two under two…oof!) there have been many a time where I would have done just about anything to get my little ones to sleep through the night. In the spirit of understanding I am the rule, and not the exception, when it comes to early motherhood sleep deprivation – I’m sharing what’s worked for our tiny girl gang in hopes that YOU (and your little one ) can get the shut eye you deserve and so desperately need. Enjoy! Sleep Sacks // Since Day 1, both of my girls were in sleep sacks through ..read more

With the gateway to the Alsatian region of France just two hours from our doorstep, we’ve loved visiting the area famous for it’s wine route and charming villages that inspired Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. We’ve done Strasbourg and Colmar with no children (while I was pregnant), just Olivia as a baby, Olivia as a growing toddler, and finally on this last trip, with both girls in tow (two toddlers!). On each trip we make to the area we find something new to explore, and our final European adventure before heading back Stateside was no exception. We found our favorite Airbnb yet, had some ..read more

Travel // Flying With Toddlers : What I’m Packing

If you give me the option of a long-haul flight with two toddlers or a root canal, my only question to you would be “what time do you need me in the chair?”. I last flew the Germany –> USA roundtrip-route with Olivia when she was 11 months old, and let’s just say it wasn’t *not* traumatic. I was pregnant with Emmy (read: unable to enjoy my usual in-flight beverage), it was just the two of us, and she was not interested in anything but climbing, running, and more climbing, and crying. Less than 24 hours ago we packed up (almost) all of our belongings, shipping them out for a long journey back to the homeland (and our new chapter in Boston!). Although I certainly don’t consider myself an expert mover, this is our fifth big move and I definitely thought I had this one in the bag *as they say, fifth time’s the charm? What I failed to realize, is this move was just a bit different – only our second with one child and our first with two toddlers. There’s also the fact that we are still living in our house…sans furniture…for a full month….before we head to a hotel for our ten al ..read more
