It is a special privilege to photograph weddings - and even more of a privilege when asked to do it twice in one family. Our first encounter with the On Family was back in 2010 when we photographed Melody and Fred's wedding in Mexico. Then last year, we were asked by Mel's sister, Mary, to photograph her union to Tony. Getting to know Carlee and Jason has been amazing considering the short amount of time lapsed - from the first time we met them in the summer, to their engagement session, and then on to their wedding day at Furry Creek a few short weeks ago. We braved scaling the huge rock at Whytecliff Park with Cana and Sherman for their couple session in the middle of summer - next time, I will think ahead and bring "rock-climbing" shoes (blingy summer sandals just didn't cut it!). Beth and August's beautiful wedding day began in the elegant Rosewood Georgia Hotel. In the bedroom of the spacious suite, Beth was pampered with makeup and hair, surrounded by her Mom and besties - and of course, the gorgeous white dress. In the groom's room, August was as cool as a cucumber and looked dashing in his suit and tie. Carlee and Jason live in New West and wanted some of their own backyard for their Couple Session. Our walkabout began at Sapperton Park by the Fraser River, which made for a stunning backdrop, as well as a wonderful running track for their dog, Riley. Then it was up to the Castle Pub (which really does look like a castle, and was used as a jail back in the day!). Our session ended at a cute little park slightly hidden beside Queen's Park, where Riley ran around, and Carlee and Jason got a little snuggly! A blistering hot day in June greeted Janet and Vanson as they prepared to say their I Dos. The Four Seasons Hotel was the setting for their celebration, and it started with Janet and her female entourage getting ready in one of the classic-looking rooms. Cousins, aunts, and Mom helped Janet get into her beautiful dress (sewed painstakingly by her Mom over a period of 3 months!). Jess and Jon are one of the most fun and quirky couples we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. From the beginning of the day at the church, to the creative session, to the reception, these two plus their wedding party were a hoot! Mary is the sister of one of our past brides, Melody, whose wedding we photographed (an unbelievable seven years ago!) in Mexico. We love the way Charmaine and Hugh incorporated their beautiful little girl, Eva, into their wedding! Just a year old, Eva was the star of the day (with the exception of the gorgeous bride, of course!), and even squeezed in a nap coming down the aisle in her red wagon - so stylish!
