Passcode : X3e&9E5g Soothing and calming an anxious mind and encouraging us to connect to points of stillness as we practice. There is an important principle in cultivating stillness: we need a light touch. If we are making too much effort, or if there is tension in the body, working in this way can be exhausting and counterproductive. Can we be slower and at times still without being rigid? When we practice in this way we connect to a deeper layer of ourselves and encourage positive change. Changes may be quite subtle, but our awareness of the changes can become more sensitive with pra ..read more

Namaskar, hoping you're ok?  If not and you feel I could help, please reach out. As we all progress on our paths, we are continuously learning how to adapt to our new realities. As we journey, maybe we have to let go of previous beliefs, maybe there should be some unlearning. If we unlearn, we have that wonder and curiosity towards our lives unfolding and without pre-judging. Remembering, things are ok in the present moment. Our yoga and mindfulness giving us that reassurance again and again. Our theme last week was self-care and feeling connected to each other with the LIVE classes ..read more

Here we are at high summer and another auspicious time. I realise that with the moon and the sun and the alignment of the planets and the stars, there is always a reason for practising yoga and it being a ritual, an act of gratitude rather than a must do exercise. Yesterday was 8/8.  The 8th day of the 8th month and this day is known as Lion’s gate. A time where we open our hearts to the sun. Read more here about 8/8 Lion’s gate. The exact astronomical event this year will be on August 15-16. Inviting you to join me for a slow and gentle pre-recorded practice b ..read more

The hips are complex and there are many dysfunctions that can cause pain and discomfort. Pain often comes and goes and often times the pain is not sited in the location of the problem. Therapeutic yoga for hips can be used as both a preventative and also to help soothe in the case of a flare-up and acute pain or long-lasting chronic pain. The SI joints in particular, can get very ‘loud’ as can the piriformis and the psoas and it is useful to adopt the RASS (Release/Align/Strengthen/Stretch) technique taught to me by my teacher Dr. Elena Voyce from Teach Yoga UK. Feel to heal is also a mantra t ..read more

If you have tension in the upper body then it's possible you are not breathing optimally. It takes practice to breathe with awareness and to breathe more fully, recruiting all of the muscles for respiration, so be patient. Step 1 to improving your breath and reversing any habitual patterns is to simply observe the breath. Step 2 is discovering if you can, the different movements in your body as you breathe. Ideally, when we are in a state of rest, we are wanting to breathe belly, side ribs, chest and then collar bones. We call this the 4 part yogic breath. Step 3 discover the othe ..read more
