Hello, I'm back in blogland after moving house and my quilting workshop twice within 12 months, along with quilting for customers that was a lot of hard work. I have spaces for a few customer quilts in February but I'll only be doing digitised quilting designs for the time being. That is edge to edge quilting using pantographs that flow over your pieced tops no matter which pattern you have used for your piecing.  I've just updated my Facebook Business page and my Website with my new contact details, so if you really need me that's where you'll find me. Just to feed your appetite's here ..read more

I've never met Sarah, her quilt arrived in the post. Sarah made it partly while living in Australia, then finished it while living New Zealand and now it’s finally going to be hanging on Sarah's wall back in England, it was quilted here in Scotland, so it's been well travelled.  This is a commercial pattern by Di ford and the second I've quilted of this design, I used monopoly invisible thread and a trilobal thread in a khaki colour. The photos show before and after, enjoy ..read more

My customer quilts are all out of sync due to a recent technical glitch with my phone but never mind, hopefully they'll all turn up in a blog post near you sometime soon... Eunice pieced and embroidered this lovely 'stitcheries' quilt, lots of lovely little sayings hidden in among the french knots. I quilted feathered wreaths around the hearts and border and a bit of digitised work in the blocks, freemotion and digitised working well together..... Moira's lovely quilt is done with a digitised design named Brenda's Tulips, it gives a lot of movement to the piecing.... Barbara ..read more

At long last my camera's phone has decided to play nice with my laptop, it seemed they had had a bit of a tiff, but all now seems well, technology eh? So it's been a few weeks and I have quite a few customer quilts to show.... Moira pieced this delicate, double sided quilt for a friend who had given her the very special gift of her wedding dress to use in sewing projects. Moira made this special souvenir as a gift to give as a surprise back to her friend, the wedding dress is the cream fabric on the front of the quilt and the star on the back. I used a cream thread and a designed named Fea ..read more

I love the colour contrast of purple and beige, who would have thought of such a combination? Doreen did! Quilts which have blocks set on point, or diagonal set often come with their own unique set of problems. This one was no exception, I struggled to tame the fullness in the blocks, much starch, steam and cursing was had, but in the end I was pleasantly surprised with the result. Quilted with khaki sand thread and 'crystal maize computerised quilting design. I hope Doreen was happy with the finished quilt, it went home with that crinkly old fashioned look ..read more
