For those of you who know me well, or have even been following me on Twitter for a while, you’ll know that when I turned my blog into my business, I was so excited. I felt like I had started a new chapter and I felt like I was going to accomplish so many things. I had always wanted to write and to think that it was possible for me to earn money from home whilst doing it was just beyond anything I could imagine. That's it. My blog is officially a business and I am now classed as self employed ❤️ — Fern (@mumconventional) January 10, 2018 I had been blogging for around 2ish years at that point ..read more

Getting Our First Puppy

When I was a little girl all I ever wanted, out of everything in the whole world, was a dog. I used to watch Homeward Bound on repeat, I would blow out my birthday candles and just hope that my parents would change their minds when they repeatedly said no, and then my dreams came true. We actually did get one, and I was probably the happiest I had ever been. Unfortunately we had to move out of our house shortly afterwards and the new landlords wouldn’t let us keep her, and I had to wave goodbye to my new best friend, all in the matter of weeks. This week is Mental Health Awareness week and I have always tried to get involved in some way when it comes around. I realised this would be the perfect time to discuss my mental health as of late, the progress I have made since my previous posts and just to have an overall discussion about mental health issues in general and how important it is to focus on getting better. Since I last discussed my issues with anxiety, my mental health took a huge turn for the worse. I’d started to feel like everyone else’s life would’ve been better without me, and I knew I just had to put all of my remaining ..read more

I recently published a tweet that went semi-viral. Thankfully not FULLY viral because my phone can just about cope with the notifications as it is right now. Here is said tweet: Do you know what is really horrendous.. the fact they send dads home after they've had a baby if it isn't within visiting times. Imagine having your baby and having to leave them straight away for almost 12 hours. Your NEW baby. I would be furious about this if I was a man. — Fern (@mumconventional) April 12, 2019 I tweeted this after a conversation with my heavily pregnant friend, in which I told her that both times a ..read more
