Hello! Did anyone use Promise Ridge in the Poconos (PA) for an elopement or microwedding? I’m curious about cost and your experience. They don’t do pre-visits or tours which gives me pause, however it looks lovely in the pics.

Hi all, I might just be over thinking but wanted some confirmation or input. I plan to send out a evite invitation (just a digital invitation) however we plan to send these while simultaneously posting to social media.
My question is does it seem tacky if you got the link via text message instead of traditional email? Email seems a BIT more formal than a text and that way I can avoid some immediate responses, but I'm worried others may not see theirs (spam folder, don't check email etc). I know I can't control exactly what time everyone decides to check their phone / email. Anyone else go thi ..read more

I just need to vent a little.. my fiancé and I decided to elope on a vacation and I’m so happy we will be doing that. When we were wedding planning, my MOH was my childhood best friend. Understandably, we aren’t doing wedding party stuff now! However, I’ve been vocal about wanting “traditional” aspects to this because we are getting married in a Non traditional way - we are doing a reception party at home and I’m still having a bachelorette party.
My best friend has been talking about planning my bachelorette party for years, and yet, when I brought up planning for this, she was so uninterest ..read more

This might be a dumb question or not the place to ask it, but, you’re not required to have a photographer, right? lol like I can take my own pictures of us in Yellowstone?

My fiancee and I are eloping just the two of us in Shenandoah National Park in October 2025 and I've decided I want to get my hair and makeup done for the ceremony. I don't need anything fancy, I just know I do not have the skills necessary to do it myself. We would be coming in from Pennsylvania for the wedding and are staying at an AirBnb in Elkton, VA.
Does anyone live near the Elkton area and have recommendations for hair and MU?
I would prefer to get both hair and makeup done with one person/company. It would just be me who needs the service and I would be willing the travel up to an hou ..read more

We were able to pull of a secret elopement that we planned in under two months to Las Vegas: we only told the people that were attending (my three adult children and my best friend/maid of honor) It was perfect in pretty much every aspect except the travel day home, which was way too long due to the red-eye flight (won't do that again)
We stayed at the Virgin Hotels Resort who upgraded us on check in to an amazing room with a huge tub when I mentioned I wanted one.
Married at the Little White Chapel: perfection, the officiant was just perfect, bringing everyone to tears even though he just me ..read more

We’ve just booked our dream elopement and honeymoon ? we used a travel agent and are going to the Four Seasons Seychelles for 5 nights for the elopement (followed by safari throughout Tanzania and then some relaxation on Mnemba Island at the end for our safari).
In the background whilst planning this with our travel agent, we were in contact with the Four Seasons Seychelles for the wedding planning. It’s just one person we’ve been emailing with, who is their events coordinator. It will just be there two of us so they told us they had two packages to choose from, one a little more expensive th ..read more

We are hoping to get a contract going asap with one of them, but I’m torn:
Photographer A: I gasped when I saw the photos from her Instagram. They’re the most beautiful wedding photos I’ve ever seen and her package comes with a ton of add ons without an extra charge (an album, a year later photo session, photos in gif form and more). Her personality is opposite of my structured personality, and I see how she can calm us. But I worry that she’s so easygoing that it’ll cause issues. For example, I considered a location change and she said it shouldn’t be a problem getting a permit to get marrie ..read more

We are eloping this upcoming weekend with a small group of close friends and family- we were planning to do an official announcement after the fact for our family and friends we are not including- but I am not sure what to do re: social media posts day of/day after. Most of the people who'd care (grandparents, etc) aren't on social media anyways- but a few are. Should we ask people to not post anything until we can, or should we just let everyone have a good time and post whatever they feel like posting? Part of me is inclined to not put rules and just let things happen how they happen. Would ..read more
