5/8/23 – Please welcome Cowboy! Cowboy was born on 11/22/22 with a heart defect and turned over to us by his breeder. He had an initial work up with the cardiologist in February and started showing signs of struggling recently. We started him on atenolol today and he will see the cardiologist at UGA in a few weeks for further testing. Atenolol is a drug is in a class of drugs called “beta-blockers.” We are using it primarily to decrease the strength of contraction, which may be beneficial for Cowboy’s type of heart disease. 2/19/24 – Please welcome Savannah Aiken! Savannah Aiken’s owner turned her over to a vet clinic because she needed surgery they could not afford. The vet clinic turned her over to us so we can get her the care she needs. She has a prolapsed rectum so we took her directly to the emergency vet clinic. They were able to reduce the prolapse and place a purse string. She will be on a special diet, stool softeners and be dewormed. We will remove the purse string in a week. 2/28/24 – Savannah Aiken’s rectum prolapsed as soon as we removed the purse string so we moved forward with a colopexy surgery ..read more

2/22/24 – Please welcome Huk! Is in desperate need of tail amputation surgery that his owners can not afford so they turned him over to us. He has a horrible tail pocket infection that his ozzy blood and puss. We will treat with oral antibiotics for now, he is too painful and will not allow us to clean or treat the tail pocket topically. We were able to get enough of the discharge to do a culture and will change the medication if needed. 2/22/24 – Please welcome Stashe! Stashe’s owner has become ill so she asked us to find a new home for him. He is already neutered. He is overweight so he is on a diet and he also has a little bit of so he should not need surgery but he is on a diet. He seems to be a little uncomfortable when walking so he will see the orthopedic surgeon for a consult. He is eating prescription urinary food because of some previous blood in his urine. We are working on obtaining his previous vet records to confirm if he had bladder stone surgery in the past. But regardless he seems to be doing well on this food ..read more
